I want to move out of the UK to an Islamic country. The thing is I don't have a clue where to go. I suppose I'm worried because I'm going to be on my own with my little son, so's I gotto be careful and make sure we are both safe. I want to take my son away from western influences and give him a good islamic education. Also, I need to be able to drive and work there. Driving isn't very important but job prospects are. So any pointers in which country would be ideal for us to live in? Or if it's not a good idea? All this is confusing me. Please give your suggestions.

well i like egypt....but Saudi better. but i heard they dont allow women to drive . however if the job is close by the home and the amenities you dont really have to drive do you. (we know what youre like behind the wheel )

hmmmmm...sis i was thinin dat u can giv a gud education to ur son even though u liv in da UK....y not? i mean....well....i used to liv in kUwait n well it neva occured to me dat i had to pray....but now dat i liv in da UK n lukin around at all da spoilt youth n der stupidity, ma heart start to make an oath dat i wint leave ma religion no matta wat...all i do is keep a firm belief in Allah.
teach ur son all da basics o islam n also sis pls dont be hard on him. bcuz if u r hard on him, he will c u as an enemy, try n sort things out in a calm way...

yeh i know what u mean sis. Uk is ok itself. I just need to get my son away from certain people here. I teach him one thing and they do another. And I can't stop my son seeing them cuz they are his family. So i feel da only way is to go and live somewhere else, then maybe come back when he is older. if i allow these people to give my son the freedom to do what he wants, whereas i put limits on it, then he will def see me as the enemy. I guess it's a tricky situation :confused:

Sister, I too, have thought the very same thing...but not for the same reason (a child to raise)..but to live with my own,,and not be a social outcast,as I am the only muslim here....
think long and hard sister..its a big decision and step....I find when I just leave things to Allah, and his will, not mine...things fall into place...

but sis u shud know dis dat once a person is strong in his/her belief, following it is no prob. if u go away now n cum b l8er, in my opinion as a young teenager, i wud say dat ur child MAY fink bad of u....i cant xplain dis < i only said it through my experiences n researches. :X
1 solution cud be dat u avoid seein dem ppl as much as possible. n also dat u cud move a bit far away from ur current place instead o thinkin o movin to a different country. it wud be a lot easier plus ur son c's dem ppl less often....

There are other options. Many places in the UK have places where u would think that your in another country (I may have exagerated that):X . I recently moved from London to a place where there are muslims, left right and centre.
It can take time to get use to it, the amount of work our youth put into deen is incredible.
A few palces where islamic ways is active, are;
Preston
Blackburn
Leicester (adhan has been made legal in some parts)
Dewsbury
Batley
Others can add more.

i wish it were that easy to avoid these people sis. but it's impossible. well im talking abt my sons dad. he aint bad.. he's just careless.. i feel his dad is ruining his life. when my son visits him, he wont censor what my son watches, buys him x-box & PS2 games for over 18's and now he's going to buy him an x-box360. i had to take all the games away that included rude scenes, swear words etc and limit his time on the others. but his dad keeps buying him more then lets him play with them at his house. now he's got a mobile phone and an mp3 player and he is only 7yrs old :'( i cant get it through to his father that he needs a father who will sit down with him and maybe do some homework with him, play with him, take him to the park, or just teach him something beneficial. his attitude is too casual generally. so what choice do i have than to take my son away. it's damaging him. i was thinking that maybe once my son is older and i have succeeded in teaching him what i have to without someone ruining all my hard work then he will know whats best for him and even when he sees his dad he wont be influenced by his life style anyway. i know takin him away isnt all good but i cant see a way out. its not as though i havent told him of my concerns before. he just nods his head and i hope for the best, but nothing changes.
i myself want to live in a totally islamic environment.. i feel this is better for me and my son.. *sighs* i dunno what to do

thats nice to hear. i did phone a madrasa in dewsbury once and they said they only take kids from 13 onwards.. but i wanna enrol my son while he is little.. i suppose that's the benefit of living in an islamic country.. and aint uk schools all privately funded so u pay huge fees or something? well maybe its worth looking into these areas before making the big move to another country and not knowing soul there.. i dunno, which way to go lol but tnx for ur suggestions :thankyou:

well sis...as much as i wna move to saudi, it aint practical at prez. I have to look after my parents here, and Alhumdulillah ive a great family.....(just wish we all lived in saudi!!))
My parents have recently come back from saudi after performing hajj Alhumdulilllah. They talk a lot about how living their would be ideal for them....but i most deffinitly doubt they wud actually move abroad...**looking sad**

yup toooo much worldly satisfaction for kids nowadays...difficult to maintain a balance....i remember a few days back at ma sis's house sum of her friends came 2 visit her and there was this 6 yr old boy n he had a mobile phone...i was like woahhhhhhhhhhh!! holddd ittt!! lil boy what u doing with ur own mobile!?!?
its difficult to set an islamic environment for kids here....no matter how hard you try..theres so much unwanted influence from outside...

my dream is to go and visit malasia......never been there but i have seen pics...and i would love to go there and see whats it like....inshaallah one day i will move to islamic country as well....i wish you and your kid the best of luck sister, and may Allah shine his lights and belssing on the paths you are about to encounter.....
