well a mehfil as far as I know is just a gathering in a mosque, its just when people get together, do speeches on Islam and read naats/nasheeds, and why do people go to them? WHY NOT? They often show sum realllllllly biiiiiiiig mehfils in pakistan on QTV, U shud watch, they gud
