Can I be forgiven for shirk

    Report bad ads?

When I was 14 I commited shirk unknowingly and when I found out I was severely depressed. I did my research to find out if allah forgives shirk and I heard that allah does forgive shirk if you repent sincerely before death and to never do it again. I was so happy that I started to practice my faith again
But one day I had commited shirk by accident and I kept on commiting shirk knowingly and by accident and I used to ask allah for forgiveness from shirk and I promised allah that I would not do it again but I kept on commiting shirk (going on for many months). I used to avoid anything that is about islam and I later on realised how much I have messed up. I then sincerely repented and I resolved to never commit shirk. It has now been 2 years and I haven't commited shirk and I am practicing my deen. I would like to know if allah will forgive me for commiting shirk despite how many times I had commited shirk.

Re: Can I be forgiven for shirk

I am pretty sure the forgiveness /maghfiroh that is meant in the quran is the forgiveness on the afterlife.

Nobody can enter heaven with a sin, so they will be purified. Those with shirk sins wont.

Well I think you are the best person to be able to answer that, if you hurt and make other people's life a misery, surely you can't be forgiven for that type of behaviour forever, I know in our society today it's a very common behaviour, unless you are on the receiving end of that type of behaviour, I always look at that type of behaviour as the very evil sin, and one should not constantly practice that type of behaviour and expect forgiveness from God.

No matter what sin a person commits, if he repents for it in this world, before dying, Allaah Ta`aalaa will forgive him In Shaa Allaah.

    that's not what i meant..

maybe you were referring for this:

“Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases, and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin.”(Surah an-Nisā’ 4:48)

This is for those who believe in it and die without having done any taubah yet--or, before returning back to iman. Those that repent and reject shirk are forgiven Allah says :
4|153|The People of the Scripture challenge you to bring down to them a book from the sky. They had asked Moses for something even greater. They said, “Show us God plainly.” The thunderbolt struck them for their wickedness. Then they took the calf for worship, even after the clear proofs had come to them. Yet We pardoned that, and We gave Moses a clear authority.

Allaah has told us that he will forgive all sins for the one who repents to Him. He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Say: ‘O ‘Ibaadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily, Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful’”[al-Zumar 39:53]

This includes all sins, even shirk. Whoever repents, Allaah will accept his repentance. With regard repentance from shirk in particular and the acceptance thereof, Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment.
    69. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;
    70. Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds; for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allaah is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”[al-Furqaan 25:68-70]

Allaah mentions the kufr and shirk of the Christians, then calls them to repent.
He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Surely, disbelievers are those who said: “Allaah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).” But there is no Ilaah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilaah (God —Allaah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them.
    74. Will they not turn with repentance to Allaah and ask His forgiveness? For Allaah is Oft‑Forgiving, Most Merciful”[al-Maa'idah 5:73-74]

No matter how great the sin, the forgiveness, generosity and kindness of Allaah is greater. All you have to do is to turn to Allaah, regret what you did and resolve not to do it again. Then receive the glad tidings of the bounty and mercy of Allaah, for Islam wipes out whatever sins came before it, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him):
“O ‘Amr, do you not know that Islam wipes out whatever came before it.” Narrated by Muslim, 121; Ahmad, 17861.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who repents from sin is like one who did not sin.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and classed as hasan by al-Albaani. If a person repents to Allaah, Allaah accepts his repentance and forgives him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And He it is Who accepts repentance from His slaves, and forgives sins”[al-Shoora 42:25]

“And verily, I am indeed forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds, and then remains constant in doing them (till his death)”[Ta-Ha 20:82]

We have to think well of our Lord and hope that He will accept our repentance, for Allaah says, “I am as My slave thinks I am.” A hadeeth qudsi narrated by al-Bukhaari, 7066; Muslim, 2675.

According to Ahmad with a saheeh isnaad: “I am as My slave thinks I am, so let him think whatever he wants.”

With regard to strengthening your faith, this may be done in many ways, such as the following:

1 – Remembering Allaah a great deal, reading His Book and sending a great deal of blessings upon His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

2 – Regularly offering the obligatory prayers on time and offering a lot of naafil prayers, so that one may attain the love and support of Allaah as it says in the hadeeth: “Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6137.

3 – Keeping company with good people who will help you to worship and obey Allaah and discourage you from disobeying Him.

4 – Reading biographies of righteous people among the scholars, ascetics (zaahids), devoted worshippers and those who repented.

5 – Keeping away from everything that reminds you of sin and calls you to it. In general, faith is increased by doing acts of worship and keeping away from haraam things. We ask Allaah to help you and to accept your repentance, and to guide your heart.
    And Allaah knows best.

Re: Can I be forgiven for shirk

Just make Tawbah for all the sins and Shirk which you have committed in your life. Never ever delay in making Tawbah, because we never know when we are going to die. You know, you get lots of people - especially youngsters - who say, "Eh, you know what, I'm still young. I'll live the kind of life I want, do the stuff I want to do, and then when I'm so 55-60 years old, I'll make Tawbah. I'll do a Hajj. I've got enough time."

No, you haven't. I know so many people who left this Dunyaa while they were still youngsters. I'm sure everyone here does. So what proof do any of us have that we will live in this Dunyaa until tomorrow? Death comes at any time. Today could be the last day in my life. Could be the last day in yours. So never delay making Tawbah and changing your life for the better. Become closer to Allaah Ta`aalaa. Change your focus from Dunyaa to Aakhirah.

Well I always look at this as a get out card, something that Jewish solicitors are good at, I think you can repent as much as you want, if you were evil in your life you can believe anything you want, punishment you will get for your sins, if you destroy people's lives and leave them for the rest of their lives in hardship.

Re: Can I be forgiven for shirk

In Islaam, there are two kinds of rights and two kinds of sins:

    1. Huqooqullaah (The Rights of Allaah)
    2. Huqooq-ul-`Ibaad (The Rights of the Slaves)

The Deen of Islam gives importance to both rights. Not only the Rights of Allaah Sub-haanahu wa Ta`aalaa, but even the rights of people. Islam teaches that when a person sins against Allah Ta`aalaa, then that sin is between him and Allah. Allah Ta`ala will forgive him if he makes Tawbah (repents) for it. On the other hand, if a person has wronged, caused harm to or oppressed another person in any way, then Tawbah alone will not atone for that. This person is not forgiven until the person he has wronged has forgiven him. This is the meaning of “Huqooq al-`Ibaad” (the rights of the slaves of Allah).

If you have taken the money or Haqq of any person, give it back to them. If you have slandered any person, ask forgiveness from them. If you have spread lies and false rumours about any person, seek forgiveness from them for it. If you have physically hurt any person, seek their forgiveness and pardon. This is a requirement for your Tawbah (repentance) from such sins to be forgiven by Allaah Ta`aalaa.

This is not a matter to be taken lightly. If a person has harmed and oppressed people in his life and dies without having sought their pardon and them having forgiven him, then he will have to pay dearly for it in the Aakhirah (hereafter), by them taking from his good deeds to make up for the wrong he has done them, and if he has no good deeds left, then their sins will be taken from them and piled on him. If the sins of a person are greater than his good deeds, he may be put in Jahannam to atone for them. A person may have come on the Day of Qiyaamah (Judgement) with numerous good deeds to his credit. He had performed so much Salaah in his life. He had fasted so often. He had gone on Hajj and `Umrah so many times. He had read so much Qur’aan and made so much Dhikr. However, he had wronged this person, taken the right of this person, slandered this person, harmed this person, etc. All of these people - on the Day of Qiyaamah - will come and exact their revenge from him. It is possible that he has harmed so many people that, after they have all taken from his good deeds, he himself has absolutely nothing left. Such a person has been described in the Hadeeth of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم as a true “Muflis” (pauper). And if this wretched and unfortunate person has no good deeds left to give away in atonement of the harm he has caused to others, and their sins are thus piled on his shoulders in exchange, and his scale of bad deeds now far outweighs his scale of good deeds, then what will be his destination?

There will be no money on that day to buy good deeds from anybody. There will be nobody to bribe or threaten. Nobody on that day will be willing to give from their good deeds to this miserable individual, to save him from the fate that would await him.

So in summary, we say that of course a person who has ruined the lives of others will not simply get away with it that easily. He will have to earnestly seek the pardon of these people. Do whatever he can to acquire their forgiveness for the wrongs he has done them.

Some wrongs can never be compensated.

Well, I was brought up in a village, that its logic that came with it, is totally different from what we know today.
I was wondering with very nasty people that have made a huge bounty, they and their family benefit from the harm they had done, their children enjoy universitie education and all the trimmings that come with it, there family benefit from the bounty that they have made from other people's misery that they had created. Can their family enjoy such a bounty and can be considered innocent, or are they just as guilty as the family member that accumulated such a bounty.

Noble Quran 4:137'' Indeed, those who have believed then disbelieved, then believed, then disbelieved, and then increased in disbelief - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a way.''

So if you had not ''increased in disbelief '' inshallah Allah forgives if you had done taubatun Nasuha ie sincere repentance before death which is done with the oath and strong intention not to do that sin again.

No don't delete it bro but I think you should include the tafsir of the ayah
Its True Allah said '' My Mercy prevails over my wrath ''

Or else this world would n't have existed untill now.
