Is it natural and halal to be scared of death?

    Report bad ads?

According to my knowledge, a disbeliever is not afraid of death because he does not believe in God. But a believer is afraid of death because he believes in God.

I was told by my Muslim father that if I side God there is nothing that should make me scared off because God is with me.

The reason I'm scared of death is because I do not know how will I die: a true believer or disbelie? Thats my biggest most important question I have. And in present day, I commit sometimes disbelief but mostly I commit them without even knowing whether I have did it with intention or unintention, and mostly without intention. I dont know what the heck is happening with me...

So, is it natural understaning and halal for everyone to be scared of death? How can you control this emotion? The reason I'm asking is that because God can change anyone as He wishes, so I dont know how I will die, this what really freakes me out.

Re: Is it natural and halal to be scared of death?

    Assalamu alaykum warahmitallahi wa barakatu.
My brother, in my opinion, it is actually the opposite of what you believe. Im pretty sure many other sheiks believe this too
A disbeliever is someone who loves living the moment in this world! They wont ever want to die! What if they can’t have the fun they wanted

Death is a gift to the believer. Imagine returning to Allah, IMAGINE being admitted to paradise MEETING and talking to the prophets alayhisalam about their adventures. JANNAH JANNAH JANNAH! The joy of living there cannot be explained. Thats why we dont think about it often. We truly dont realize how amazing it will be for us. Allah. Imagine seeing ALLAH. The one you have worshipped and worked hard for. Although I am young, I sometimes start thinking “What if I died now? That sounds nice” AND NOT BECAUSE I AM DEPRESSED. Alhamdulilah I am a happy person, but I realize that I would be more happy with my Lord. I am excited to return to the One who brought me here. The One who is just, the One who always understood the pain I would go through.

The question is, are you devoted enough to Allah? Did you know that every Muslim should go to sleep at night not expecting to wake up the next morning. And they should wake up in the morning not expecting to continue the day? What does this mean? FORGET THIS WORLD BUT NOT COMPLETELY. Do your job, care for your family. However, realize even though you are healthy, Allah can take away your soul even at this second. So ERADICATE your sins to the best extent you can. BRING IN MORE GOOD DEEDS to the best you can. DO NOT WASTE TIME. When you have free time to yourself, dont waste your time with entertainment (games, recreation,movies... of course, you still need to give your loved ones attention), put time into learning abt islam and worshipping
Most believers fear death if they feel that they are not trying their best to be a devout muslim. Of course it is natural to have a slight fear. I myself wonder how my death will be. I have a certain phobia and sometimes I think what if someone kills me? But you cannot let it get to your mind. It is what Allah destined. Let’s say your death was committed in a cruel way. You are dead, but not defeat. You are the WINNER(if ur devout muslim). As longg as Allah is safe, you are. Allah is the most powerful and beyond what we can imagine as “safe”

Increase your iman, sincerity, and excitement to see your Lord.

What worried me if whether I will die in state of kufr or iman, this what scares me as I dont know how will I die, that is why I'm little bit scared of death. Because, its a serious thing.

Oh I see. Sometimes I get that too. Keep making dua and dont think about it or the shaytan will try to scare you. Just stay positive and work hard. For now, gain iman.
Now that I think of it, iman isnt something you can completely lose unless you never had any to begin with. Some people get their low times where there iman level is extremely low, but they come back to Allah. Allah chose you, take advantage and be optimistic!

Re: Is it natural and halal to be scared of death?

The easy answer is to live your life in a state of worship and remembrance of Allah. Live as though it'll be your last day. Continually perform dhikr. If you get too comfortable, you may start to become neglectful. Continually thinking about death and the afterlife isn't necessarily a bad thing for a believer. It'll remind you that your time will eventually be up and hopefully it will keep you in a state of remembrance of Allah and to always seek forgiveness for your short comings.

Are there times to recite dhikr?

Re: Is it natural and halal to be scared of death?

Make it a habit to do it daily. Whether you're driving, on the computer, walking, or whatever the case may be. If you say them enough times, it will become second nature to the point where you start saying it naturally rather than trying to remind yourself to say it. There might be days where the rewards for saying them are greater, but it won't matter if you are doing it on a daily basis anyways.

because death is an unknown thing because you don't know what's gonna happen after death.. what unknown is makes you feel scared, it's natural.. you'll never see a "fearless" human being, everyone has their own fear
