Du’a for acquiring good memory

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

Read the following 10 times a day. It is a very effective dua for acquiring good memory and not to suffer forgetfulness:

First recite verse 79 Sura Al-Anbiya Juz 17

Fa fahhamnaha Sulayman wakullan aataynahu hukmaw wa ilma.Wa sakkharna ma’a Dawuda wa’l-jibala yusabbihna wattayr wakunna fa’ileen.

Then read the following:

Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyumu Ya Rabba Musa waHarun waNuh waIbrahim waIsa waMuhammadin Sallallahu alayhi wasallam Akrimni bi jawdatil hifdhi wasur’ati fahhmi, Warzuqni hikmata wama’rifatal ilmi wa thabat- dhihni wa’l aqli wa’l-hilmi bi haqqi sayyidina Muhmmadin Sallallahu alayhi wasallam Ya Rabbal Alamin.

O’ Living, O’ One Through Whom All Subsists, O’ Lord of Musa, Harun, Nuh, Ibrahim, and Muhammad, honour me with good memory and understanding, Bestow me with wisdom, true knowledge and a firm intellect and mind with the blessing of Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace).

One of the most importing things is to avoid sins, and if you do commit a sin, one should perform two rak’ats of Tawba and ask forgiveness from Allah and the same each time.

And Allah Knows Best

wa-salaam alaykum

sis I love what you have wrote please forgive me but can I get a source for this and if possible the source for the dua?

Has any of these claims of practical dua use ever been scientifically and independently verified as effective?

Well anecdotal evidence is hardly something to trust. It might work for you but does it work for all faithful believers? Whether or not you're religious, people shouldn't buy into this sufi magical dua stuff. Even many conservative Islamic scholars say this stuff is nonsense and superstitious.

well as far as I know reading of the ayats/surahs which I did were authentic and they are mentioned in the back of the south african quraan maybe you could make wudhu and check it for yourself maybe that might put some sense in you for doubting Islam to start off with:giggling:

I read the Quran everyday. But, haven't done wudu since I became free-thinker though. I might do wudu just for ol' times sake.

And back on the topic of these magical duas, have you you ever heard of the placebo affect?

if u want to read the Quran..u should wash first...r u use former muslim before?

You're grammer is kinda off, but I think you're asking me if I'm a former Muslim. Yes, I used to be quite religious and "deeni" but I stopped believing around a year ago.

Why should I wudu if I'm not even a believer?

Huh..I am believer to Allah..I am believe everything about Allah..I just wonder what cause you to ran off from Islam thats all..

There are many reasons. Social, Intellectual, Political and Personal. And I never "ran off" from Islam, my faith and conviction was eroded over many years and many experiences..

Since you're asking, why don't you test it out urself?

For you to call yourself "deeni" or very religious, you should have already known that as a Muslim everyone is tested, some are weaker than others and ofcoarse external factors will affect them, break through that thin barrier of faith...well anyways gud luck with ur life, cant really say anything else to you, u just dont seem that educated about islam to have been a religious muslim, maybe thats my own judgement allahu a'lem.

Nearly every religious Muslim makes that claim almost reflexively against ANYONE who leaves the faith. It's kind of ridiculous and closed-minded that Muslims just can't even consider the fact that people choose their paths out of Islam for very sound and knowledgable reason.

How would it feel if a Christian told you that the only reason you're still Muslim and not a Christian is because you're just ignorant about Jesus? You'd probably be insulted. There are plenty of Muslims that leave Islam quite consiously and knowledgably, so please stop with the "he must not have been a real muslim" line.

"he must not have been a real muslim"well
well no doubt they are right now? anyways this thread isn't against you but its about duas to acquire good memory so back to topic??
