Is it a good idea to do 10 day i'tikaf in Masjidil Haram?

I was wondering if it's a good idea to do 10 day i'tikaf in Masjidil Haram without booking a hotel room? Most umrah packages include a hotel room and I think it'd be a waste if I plan to sleep in the Masjid. Please advise, brothers and sisters.

Well, Allaah forbid if you get sick or need something really bad wouldn't u need a hotel for that?

I think in the shaafi fiqh u are allowed to go out of the mosque for dire emergencies. What if one occurred....

    Wa alaikumus salaam

If you are doing 10- day I'tikaaf , it's pointless to book a room for ten days when you will not be occupying or using it. There are ablution facilities near the Haram in any case and someone or the group leader can arrange for your laundry.

    And Allâh Ta’ala knows best
