It is reported that Abū Hurayrah – Allāh be pleased with him – said:
Three things are from Imān: when a man has nocturnal emission during a cold night, so he gets up – only Allāh sees him – and he has a full wash (ghusl); when a person fasts on a hot day; and when a man prays in a barren land, where none but Allāh sees him.
Al-Bayhaqī, Shu’ab Al-Īmān article 51
Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:
“There are many people who recite the Qur’an while the Qur’an curses them.”
(Ithafus Sadah Al Muttaqin, vol. 4 pg. 468)
I've actually seen it happen - like when you get someone to read a surah and can see them attempt to quickly skim over the parts condemning them whilst you notice the agitation and dilation of the pupils as they go down memory lane - then the shock makes them go weak and fall asleep - during the day - within 10 minutes flat - despite having not been tired before that.Quote:

'Abdullâh Ibn al-Mubârak [رحمه الله]:
"A small deed may be great because of the intention behind it;
and a great deed may be insignificant due to the intention behind it."

Ibn ‘Abbaas RA said:
“Indeed the most detestable of things to Allaah are the innovations.”
[As-Sunan al-Kubraa, 4/316]
Ibn Mas’ud – God be pleased with him, said:
“ma ra’ahu al-muslimun hasan fa-huwa ‘inda allahi hasan.”
(Whatever believers [variant: ‘Muslims’] deem good, is good with God.)

Imam Al-Bahuti said:
“It is prohibited to imitate those who drink alcohol and that whoever does so deserves punishment even if he does not drink anything unlawful.''
Kashaf Al-Qina
Ibn Rajab rahimahullaah said:
“Eid is not for the one who wears new clothes.
Eid is for the one whose obedience rises.
Eid is not for the one with beautiful clothes and fine means of transport,
Eid is for the one whose sins are forgiven.”
[al-Lata’if, p. 371]
قال حذيفة لامرأته إن أردت أن تكوني زوجتي في الجنة فلا تزوجي بعدي فإن المرأة لآخر أزواجها ، ولذلك حرم الله تعالى على أزواج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يتزوجن بعده
Huzaifa (Prophet's Companion) said to his wife, 'If you wish to be my wife in the Heaven do not marry anyone after me for a woman will be with last of his husbands and for this reason Allah forbade it for the wives of the Messenger (pbuh) to remarry after him.'

Abu Darda (radi Allahu anhu) said: “He who remembers death often, then his delight becomes less and his enviousness (of others) diminishes.” [Siyaru A’lami an-Nubalaa]
لو قيل لك لم يبق من عمرك إلا يوم ، ما كنت صانعا ؟
Q: If you had one day remaining in your life, what would you do?
كنتُ أعلمُ الناس
Imam Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak: I would teach people.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali rh said:
''Whoever is mindful of Allah when he is young and strong, Allah will take care of him when he is old and has become weak, and will bless him with good hearing, eyesight, strength and reasoning. One of the scholars who lived beyond the age of a hundred years and enjoyed good strength and reasoning, jumped up in a lively manner one day and was asked about that. He said: “I kept these physical faculties from sin when I was young and Allah has preserved them for me now that I am old.”

Imam Shafi’i rh said:
''I’ve learned that several people experienced acceptance of their du’as at the times of iqamah and when it rains.''
Kitab al-Umm v. 2, p. 554, no. 591-592
Q: A Muslim man peforms an action that causes a palace to be built for him in Paradise, and that a tree is planted in Paradise with his name on it, etc. Then, he performs sins that make Hell obligatory for him. So, if he enters Hell, how can it be that he is supposed to be in Paradise while he is in Hell?
A: If he repents from his sins in a sincere way, Allah will forgive him, and will not prevent him from what He has Promised him. Rather, He will give this to him.
If he doesn’t repent, his good deeds will be weighed against his bad deeds. If they are heavier than his bad deeds, he will receive the reward. If his bad deeds outweigh his good deeds, he will receive the punishment, and whatever was prepared for him of reward will be nullified due to his sins that outweighed his good deeds. Likewise, if he performs bad deeds that make him deserving of Hell, and followed them up with good actions, his bad deeds will be wiped away.

Shaykh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah in ‘Majmu’ al-Fatawa’ 4/160
Sh Ibn Taimiyya rh said:
.الذِكْرُ لِلْقَلْبِ كَالمَاءِ لِلسَّمَك فَكَيفَ يَكُونُ حَالَ السَّمَك اِذَا فَارَقَ المَاء
‘Dhikr is to the heart as water is to a fish. Don’t you see what happens to a fish when it is taken out of water?’

Ziyad Ibn Hudair (Rahimahullah) said:
"Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Do you know what can destroy Islam?" I said: "No." He said: "It is destroyed by the mistakes of scholars, the argument of the hypocrites about the book (of Allah), and the opinions of the misguided leaders."
