Turkish president Abdullah Gul refused to attend a formal lunch in Vienna on Friday after being informed that the event was attended by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
Gul chose not to participate in the lunch and instead visited a residential neighborhood of Turkish immigrants in the Austrian capital.
Both men were in town for the two-day World Policy Conference, AFP reported.
Re: Turkish President Shuns Lunch in Vienna Because of Ehud Barak
tbh, I'm not pro turkish policy. Turkish government is not the best model, and it showed many mistakes and disapointements in the past.
But truth should be told, that recently, we don't find too many presidents expressing clearly their position about the israel-palestinian conflict with such firmness and bravery as the turkish leadership, in many occasions.
