Good news? Bad, in a way? No news at all?

    Report bad ads?

This just popped up at Islam Tomorrow:

The Catholic Church has finally admitted (although with many excuses)—

ISLAM IS #1 RELIGION ON EARTH TODAY! Al Hamdulillah!

Vatican City—headquarters of the Catholic Church & home to the new pope—Released the Official Statement (click, read & SHARE):

Allah Almaighty Said in the Quran:

‘It is Allah Who has send His messenger (Muhammad, peace be upon him) with guidance and the Way (religion) of truth (pure monotheism) to make it victorious over all religions (ways), even though the pagans (polytheists, idolators and disbelievers) hate it.”
    (Quran chapter 61, verse 9)

The Roman Catholic Church startled the religious and secular world today, with the official announcement –admitting:

“ISLAM has now become the world's largest religion—the Vatican newspaper said in Sunday’s “Vatican City”

“For the first time in history, we are no longer at the top: Muslims have overtaken us,’ Monsignor Vittorio Formenti said in an interview with the Vaticannewspaper L’Osservatore Romano.

Formenti compiles the Vatican’s yearbook. He said that Catholics accounted for 17.4 percent of the world population—a stable percentage—

While Muslims are more than estimated, around twenty five per cent (25%)—Yusuf Estes
‘It is true that while Muslim families, as is well known, continue to make alot of children, Christian ones on the contrary tend to have fewer and fewer,’ the monsignor said. Formenti also said that the data refers to 2006. The figures on Muslims were put together by Muslim countries and then provided to the United Nations, he said, stating the Vatican could only vouch for its own information.

It could be the Muslim population is even higher than they willing to admit. –Yusuf Estes

Even considering all types of Christians together and not just Catholics—all together are about 30% of the world’s population. Spokesmen for the Vatican and the United Nations did not immediately returnphone calls seeking comment Sunday.

Fox News? And it’s dated 2008. Whether accurate info or not I think we all know what their purpose was in reporting it to begin with. We Muslims are the big bad wolf and we’re going to huff and we’re going to puff and we’re going to BLOW YOUR HOUSE UP! And this just proves it, doesn’t it! See how we’re all snatching your poor innocent children away from Christ! Now be sure to shy from the “liberal media” and continue to pay your money exclusively to Fox for continued updates on the global conspiracy of this concerted effort of billions of people who can’t even agree with each other on what kind of headdress to wear to work!

Its practically impossible to count every single person on the planet so there must be Thousands of Muslims who are not even in the Census. The Truth will remain the truth whether people accept it or not. –from the comments section

What do you guys think of all this?

The headline in block capitals is misleading. Islam is not being hailed by Catholics as the number onr religion. That gives the sense (I think purposefully) that thwy think Islam is the best. They are just saying it is the largest, which may be true.

Alhamdulillah, it is very large now, Islam. The largest? Perhaps, and I would not be surprised. If it is, then it seems like it will carry on growing larger still.

    But where is the unity?

Will we get unity after when it does become officially recognised as the largest or will it be worst as there will be more in-fighting for power and influence?

Unity? The only thing I see happening is WWIII if that happens. Unless you get all the top leaders from all sects and lock them up in the room till they agree on something unity will sadly not happen.

They are also saying that there are Muslim than Catholics. There are still more Christians than Muslims.

These things are never really knowable (which is why I quoted that comment). Religion is probably the one hardest thing to get an accurate census account of. The average person in America, for example--as far as I can observe--seems to be in this odd no man's land somewhere between being an extremely insincere/non-practicing Christian (or whatever they were raised as) and a sort of lazy agnostic who doesn't even know what they are in the first place. But if asked what they are specifically on a survey will they be likelier to put the latter? Not hardly, I figure. There are multiple powerful psychological factors at work there. I don't imagine that these factors will disappear in other countries either, although the number of such people might vary quite a lot--but the number won't be nonexistent.

What's interesting to see is that Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist is the 3rd largest religion after Islam with 1.1 billion

kufr is always second after Islam but I doubt these stats are accurate..
firstly Muslims are 1.86 billion roughly as there are many places who also don't wish to give out their Muslim demographics like China and most articles I've come across give a 10% of any given population to atheists so I doubt it is what they say it is but be that as it may it really shouldn't matter.

I agree with you. Even fox news says there are 2.4 million Muslims in America when we know its around 10 million.
