I recently read some articles that were highly critical of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) and ISNA (Islamic Society of North America)

The general complaint is that these organizations are part of a "Wahhabi Lobby" that is funded, to some degree, by Saudi Arabia, and that is pushes a violent, radical, and intolerant version of Islam. Critics point to the number of CAIR members that have been charged with terrorism, were involved with funding Hamas, and even worries about ties to ISIS.

Is this at all accurate? Does CAIR exclusively represent Wahabbist/Salafist Islam? (I'm sure there are two sides to the story)

Obviously, anyone in the US is going to be very concerned about this, and CAIR (and NAIT) have an image problem.

If any of this is accurate, I would ask American Muslims, are there other political/social groups that better represent the Muslim community in the US?
