The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun.

A great man of the Islamic cause and historian from Turkey, Ustadh Kadir Mısıroğlu has passed away tonight, the first night of the holy month of Ramadan. May Allah's mercy be upon his soul.

If I am not wrong, he said, "When I die, remember me as an Ottoman."

He also said “If only the Greek had won the Turkish-Greek war”.. I dont know the Ottoman part but he will be remembered as a traitor by the majority.

You should know for a people who shed their religion, culture, language to get a pat on the back from Europeans shouldn't complain about "traitors."

Why don't you quote his entire quote, yes he said that but there is a strong context. He said if Greeks had won, the real conservative, turkish people would have rebelled against Greeks eventually and still kept culture and religion without becoming poor photocopies of Europeans (my terminology not his).

And what has Turkey achieved by winning the 1921 war? I hear Kemalists say, if it wasn't for him (Kemal) we would be named Yogor. You are not named Yogor. But you drink wine like Yogor, you wear same clothes as Yogor, you use the alphabets of Yogor, you also perform immoral activities liek Yogor does.

But you want to know who is real ally of Greeks?

Look up how cuddly Greek anti-Ottoman leader Venizelos was with Kemal and Ismet Inonu. Venizelos who helped Greece to break away from Ottomans nominated Kemal for Nobel Peace prize. So who is the real traitor?

Also the president of Greece Ioannis Metaxas said about Kemal, "...Greece, which has the highest estimation of the renowned leader, heroic soldier, and enlightened creator of Turkey. We will never forget that President Atatürk was the true founder of the Turkish-Greek alliance based on a framework of common ideals and peaceful cooperation. He developed ties of friendship between the two nations which it would be unthinkable to dissolve. Greece will guard its fervent memories of this great man, who determined an unalterable future path for the noble Turkish nation."
