“Say: ‘Have you then taken (for worship) Auliyâ' (protectors, etc.) other than Him, such as have no power either for benefit or for harm to themselves?’" [Ar-Ra'd (13):16]

“And who is more astray than one who calls (invokes) besides Allâh, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?” [Al-Ahqaf (46): 5]

Unfortunately there are some misguided people who say that if we call upon other than Allah, it does not mean we are worshipping them or we believe that they are God (Allah)!

“Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Little is that you remember!” [An-Naml (27) 62]

Evidence to refute those that ask the servants or slaves of Allah for various things:

“Verily, those whom you call upon besides Allâh are slaves like you. So call upon them and let them answer you if you are truthful.” [Al-A'raf (7):194]

“No help can they give them, nor can they help themselves.” [Al-A'raf (7):192]

“….and besides Allâh you have neither any Walî (guardian or a protector) nor any helper.”

    [Ash-Shura (42):31]

“And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allâh) cannot help you nor can they help themselves." [Al-A'raf (7):197]

Sometimes people ask the dead or living saints for things which only Allah can give or do – and Allah grants it. They then they say it was the dead or living saint that answered my prayers. But:

'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. [Al Jinn (72):6]

The Companions (radiyalahu ‘anhum) asked the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) to ask Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) for forgiveness for them when he (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) was alive not when he was dead.

After he (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) died Umar (radiyalahu ‘anhum) called Abbaas (radiyalahu ‘anhum), the Prophet’s uncle and said to him to “make du’aa for rain for us” – he could have asked the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) in his grave – but no – he knew he (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) could not hear him. Also Abbaas, the uncle was alive and the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam) was no longer alive

    Jazakallah sister.

Does that prove the statements of some people that RasoolAllah(SAW) can't intercede for us on the day of judgement?

Re: Evidence To Show The Falsehood Of Intercession

Sahih Bukhaari Volume 9, Book 93, Number 507:

    Narrated Anas (radhiAllaahu anhu):

The Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi waSalam) said, "Allah will gather the believers on the Day of Resurrection in the same way (as they are gathered in this life), and they will say, 'Let us ask someone to intercede for us with our Lord that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' Then they will go to Adam and say, 'O Adam! Don't you see the people (people's condition)? Allah created you with His Own Hands and ordered His angels to prostrate before you, and taught you the names of all the things. Please intercede for us with our Lord so that He may relieve us from this place of ours.' Adam will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking' and mention to them the mistakes he had committed, and add, "But you d better go to Noah as he was the first Apostle sent by Allah to the people of the Earth.' They will go to Noah who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and mention the mistake which he made, and add, 'But you'd better go to Abraham, Khalil Ar-Rahman.'

They will go to Abraham who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, 'But you'd better go to Moses, a slave whom Allah gave the Torah and to whom He spoke directly' They will go to Moses who will reply, 'I am not fit for this undertaking,' and mention to them the mistakes he made, and add, 'You'd better go to Jesus, Allah's slave and His Apostle and His Word (Be: And it was) and a soul created by Him.' They will go to Jesus who will say, 'I am not fit for this undertaking, but you'd better go to Muhammad whose sins of the past and the future had been forgiven (by Allah).' So they will come to me and I will ask the permission of my Lord, and I will be permitted (to present myself) before Him. When I see my Lord, I will fall down in (prostration) before Him and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then it will be said to me, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then raise my head and praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit whom I will admit into Paradise.

I will come back again, and when I see my Lord (again), I will fall down in prostration before Him, and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then He will say, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise, I will return again, and when I see my Lord, I will fall down (in prostration) and He will leave me (in prostration) as long as He wishes, and then He will say, 'O Muhammad! Raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to, and ask, for you will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted.' I will then praise my Lord with certain praises which He has taught me, and then I will intercede. Allah will allow me to intercede (for a certain kind of people) and will fix a limit to whom I will admit into Paradise. I will come back and say, 'O my Lord! None remains in Hell (Fire) but those whom Qur'an has imprisoned therein and for whom eternity in Hell (Fire) has become inevitable.' "

The Prophet added, "There will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a barley grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: ' La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of a wheat grain. Then there will come out of Hell (Fire) everyone who says: 'La ilaha illal-lah,' and has in his heart good equal to the weight of an atom (or a smallest ant)."

no, there are surahs and hadiths that say he(saw) will intercede but ONLY in the day of judgment
praying to the dead and prophets etc now is shirk
Evidence To Show The Falsehood Of Intercession

Quran[42:40-43] The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loves not those who do wrong.

Re: Evidence To Show The Falsehood Of Intercession

yeah, you can not ask ANYTHING from the prophet SAW while he is in the grave.

The Prophet SAW said, the best way to recieve intercession by me is to say and believe in "La ilaha ilallah".
