I hope you're reading this in good health and in the best iman.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِِ

In the Name of Allah,The All-Merciful, the Mercy-giving.

I have made this thread in hope that we will all benefit from it and take something beneficial out of it. The aim of this thread is to post arabic verbs in the Qur'an and its meaning. I'll post only 2 verbs at a time because it is impossible to swallow anymore information than that.

I'm sure we have hafid-ul-Qur'an amongst us who also know the meaning of the Qur'an so feel free to share your ilm.

Arabic Verbs

Aadhaa,

To give trouble, to harm

وَمَا لَنَا أَلاَّ نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُلَنَا وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَى مَا آذَيْتُمُونَا وَعَلَى اللّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ

"And why should we not put our trust in Allah while He indeed has guided us our ways. And we shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us, and in Allah (Alone) let those who trust, put their trust."

(14:12)

In this verse adhaytumunna is used

*****************

Abaa, ya'baa

To refuse, turn down, reject

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لآدَمَ فَسَجَدُواْ إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَى وَاسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ

And (remember) when We said to the angels:
"Prostrate yourselves before Adam."
And they prostrated
except Iblis (the jinn),
he refused and was proud
and was one of the disbelievers.

(2:34)
