sisters and brothers :sl: how are all? i hope you are just great:sunny:
so :embarrass i just want to ask you something: is there anyone who is interested in the art of arabic calligraphy or knows anything about it?
if yes ,please tell me ,because i do love this kind of art and i want to share thoughts with anybody,and i will be grateful :coolsis:

I love Arabic calligraphy sis.
I actually (not boasting) did the calligraphy on the top half of my living room walls. Im not so sure wat that border bit that sticks out at the top of the wall is called....but thats wat I did it on.
Ill inshAllah be doing it to the Prayer room of the University my mother used to attend.InshAllah, InshAllah.

about calligraphy, i learnt to do some a while back but havnt done it for quite some time.

Irs not really something you can learnsweety. Its something u have to love to be able to do....well....naturally.
Give it a try. Look at some calligraphy and try and copy it!!

I use a thin very thin paint brush. thats to get the effects going. Then, I grab hold of all the paints I need.
I have,pencil and rubber to sketch the writing.

p.s: I dont use fancy stuff. Its better to be nyc and simple.:coolious:

sisters aisha and alimah,thanks for being active with me because this is my first topic:statisfie you are all so sweet
about calligraphy,i agree with Ameeratual layl, it is something you have to love it to deal with it ,becaue it needs aloooooooot of practicing,sometimes it taks years, it is a huge kind of art:sunny:
as for me,it took one year to learn and study only one type:exhausted ,and that is because studying it with a professional:hiding:

you know what, you should do that on papers to make something like paper walls and then you treat them and then make an exhibition:rock:
so what do you think?:sunny:

Well, I used to make portarits of the kings of saudi. This was BEFORE i found it is not allowed to draw pics of ppl.:-\
I still have them. They really are amazing.
I did a really nice piece of clligraphy with the kalimah.
I got:
Black paint
gold paint

Painted the paper balck
Wrote the kalimah in pencil (it was difficult to see but it went well-rather challenging i must say).
And then, i filled the words in gold.

Wallah!! It looked amazing!!
The teacher hung it outside the school library. I believe its still there.:coolious:

im sure ur work is amazing sis, like u said. i was sorta lookin 4ward 2 u doing my room but my dads decided hes gonna get the walls marbled. u kno, have them covered in marble.sorry sis.

Thats okay sis. It dont matter.
I can always make u lovely arabic calligraphy portraits to hang on ur walls though...

hallo sister Ameeratual layl, i doooooooooo like what you are doing,so if you are talented that much, and i think you are, you must study it as an academic studying somewhere, there are lots of institutes in the gulf countries which are interested in your kind of talent,and if you could not find any in saudi arabia,then you are welcome here in uae,my dear.

mashallah i know sis ameeratul layl knows arabic, but i am learning slowly everyday the language of arabic on this forum and at home, i hope inshallah soon i will master the language of arabic
