Our Tears

Life is too short to waste
a believer is to be worthy and chaste
to enter the eternal abode
the stitches of sins we would have mended and sewed
if we knew our moments were drawn to a close


time flies as we close our eyes to blink
with the stop of a heart beat
the breaths of the lungs begin to sink
the pen dries out and our books lie complete


no more can we repent, as then we stand before our master
the start of calamity and disaster
if the time you spent was not for the sake of him alone
too late it is then to atone


the drop of salty water
that comes so easily with slaughter
is your companion of contentment
as they show sincerity and commitment
if they are for Allah

pray to your Lord
his love is that of which no other can afford
for he will listen and hear
he knows what others do not rear

cry for those who care
don’t waste your tears on those who are not even aware
that your soul and heart do not lie at ease
and all they do is mock and tease

the tears we shed should not be of those we remorse upon later
but for what has worth, reason and necessity
remembering it should only be
for our creator
