Here is no doubt of the Truth in this Book [the Qur’an], which contains guidance for the righteous: those who believe in the unseen, who pray regularly and who spend charitably from what We have given them. They are the ones who believe in what We revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, and their belief in the Hereafter is strong. They are the ones who are truly guided by their Lord and who are truly successful. 2:2-5

As salaam Alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu

This Qur-an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the Worlds. Or do they say, "He forged it?" Say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides Allah, if it be ye speak the truth!" Nay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass, even before the elucidation thereof hath reached them: thus did those before them make charges of falsehood: but see what was the end of those who did wrong! Surah Yunus 10:37-39

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh,

Lo! those who disbelieve in the Reminder when it cometh unto them (are guilty), for lo! it is an unassailable Scripture. Falsehood cannot come at it from before it or behind it. It is a revelation from the Wise, the Owner of Praise. Surah Fussilat Ayah 41-42

The 35th verse of the 24th surah of the Qur’an, an-Nur, is known as the Light Verse (ayat an-nur). The verse is so called because of the remarkable parable of light---Divine Light--it contains. Here is a translation of the verse, followed by commentary, which is based mainly on the interpretation of Amin Ahsan Islahi in his "Tadabbur-i-Qur’an" (8 vols.; Lahore, 1973-80), 4:538 ff.

Translation

Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth! His light, in terms of a similitude, is like a niche in which there is a lamp--the lamp is in a glass, the glass as if it were a brilliant star--that is being kindled by [the oil of] a blessed olive tree that is neither [of the] eastern nor [of the] western [side]: its oil would all but light up, even though no fire touched it. Light upon light! Allah guides to His light whomever He wishes. And Allah strikes similitudes for people. And Allah has knowledge of everything.

O ye who believe! Be not as those who slandered Moses, but Allah proved his innocence of that which they alleged, and he was well esteemed in Allah's sight. (69) O ye who believe! Guard your duty to Allah, and speak words straight to the point; (70) He will adjust your works for you and will forgive you your sins. Whosoever obeyeth Allah and His messenger, he verily hath gained a signal victory. (71) Lo! We offered the trust unto the heavens and the earth and the hills, but they shrank from bearing it and were afraid of it. And man assumed it. Lo! he hath proved a tyrant and a fool. (72) So Allah punisheth hypocritical men and hypocritical women, and idolatrous men and idolatrous women. But Allah pardoneth believing men and believing women, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. As Salaam Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

By the dawn; By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah), And by the even and the odd (of all the creations of Allah). And by the night when it departs. There is indeed in them (the above oaths) sufficient proofs for men of understanding (and that, they should avoid all kinds of sins and disbeliefs, etc.)! Did you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not see (thought) how your Lord dealt with 'Ad (people)? Who were very tall like lofty pillars, The like of which were not created in the land? And (with) Thamûd (people), who cut (hewed) out rocks in the valley (to make dwellings)? And (with) Fir'aun (Pharaoh), who had pegs (who used to torture men by binding them to pegs)? Who did transgress beyond bounds in the lands (in the disobedience of Allah). And made therein much mischief. So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful (over them). As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me." But when He tries him, by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me! Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity (i.e. you neither treat them well, nor give them their exact right of inheritance)! And urge not on the feeding of AlMiskîn (the poor)! And you devour inheritance all with greed, And you love wealth with much love! Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, And your Lord comes with the angels in rows, And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him? He will say: Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life! So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish. And none will bind as He will bind. (It will be said to the pious): O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction! Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him! Enter you, then, among My honoured slaves, And enter you My Paradise! Surah Al-Fajr 89

Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh,

Know that the life of the world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children; as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but afterward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow, then it becometh straw. And in the Hereafter there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion. Race one with another for forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whereof the breadth is as the breadth of the heavens and the earth, which is in store for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. Such is the bounty of Allah, which He bestoweth upon whom He will, and Allah is of Infinite Bounty.
Surah Hadeed [20-21]

O children of Adam, we have provided you with garments to cover your bodies, as well as for luxury. But the best garment is the garment of righteousness. These are some of GOD's signs, that they may take heed. [7:26]

Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and be kind to parents. If either or both of them reach old age with you, do not rebuke them, but speak to them in terms of honor and kindness. Treat them with humility, and say, 'My Lord! Have mercy on them, for they did care for me when I was little'. [17:23-4].

our God is One God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful. There is no other god but He. The creation of the heavens and the earth, the alternation of night and day, the vessels that sail the seas carrying cargo to benefit people, the rain that God sends down to revive the earth after its death, the scattering of all kinds of living creatures around the earth, the sending of the winds, and the clouds hanging suspended between heaven and earth – in all these there are indeed signs from God for people who would understand. And yet some people take others as rivals to God, loving them as much as they should love God. But true believers love God more intensely than anything, or anyone, else. (Alhamdulilaah!!)

There are men who proclaim His glory morning and evening, not distracted by trade or commerce from the remembrance of Allah and the establishment of salat (regular Prayer) and the payment of zakat (regular Charity); fearing a day when all hearts and eyes will be in turmoil – so that Allah can reward them for the best of what they did and give them more from His unbounded favour. Allah provides for anyone He wills without reckoning.

Those are the people who have lost their own selves. What they invented has abandoned them. Without question they will be the greatest losers in the hereafter. As for those who believe and do right actions and humble themselves before their Lord, they are the Companions of the Garden, remaining in it timelessly, forever. The likeness of the two groups is that of the blind and deaf and the seeing and hearing. Are they the same as one another? So will you not pay heed?

God forgives whomever He wills and punishes whomever He wills, for He can do anything. The Prophet [Muhammad] believed what the Lord revealed to Him, and so do all those of the faith. Each one believes in God, in His Angels, in His Books and in His Messengers. The believers say, ‘We do not distinguish between any of God’s Messengers.’ And they say, ‘We listen and obey. When she delivered she said: O my Lord ! Behold I am delivered of a female child. And Allah knew best what she brought forth, and is not the male like the female. (112) Those that turn (to Allah. in repentance; that serve Him, and praise Him; that wander in devotion to the cause of Allah,: that bow down and prostrate themselves in prayer; that enjoin good and forbid evil; and observe the limit set by Allah.- (These do rejoice). So proclaim the glad tidings to the Believers.

(113) It is not fitting, for the Prophet and those who believe, that they should pray for forgiveness for Pagans, even though they be of kin, after it is clear to them that they are companions of the Fire.

(114) And Abraham prayed for his father's forgiveness only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he dissociated himself from him: for Abraham was most tender-hearted, forbearing.

And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah) until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the reward of the unbelievers. 010.036 But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do.

010.037 This Qur’an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the worlds.

Hurry to gain the forgiveness of your Lord and to be rewarded with Paradise, which is as wide as the heavens and earth together. It is prepared for those God-fearing people who spend charitably whether they are prosperous or not, who control their anger, and who pardon others — God loves those who do good. When such God-fearing people do a bad deed or are wronged themselves, remember God and ask forgiveness, for none can forgive sins except God. Such God-fearing people do not also persist in doing what they know is wrong. Their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens from which rivers flow, where they will live forever. And this is the best reward for those who strive to do good.

(11) For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah. Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls). But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.

(12) It is He Who doth show you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope: It is He Who doth raise up the clouds, heavy with (fertilising) rain!

(13) Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe: He flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will..yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of His power (supreme)!

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east (i.e. neither it gets sun-rays only in the morning) nor of the west (i.e. nor it gets sun-rays only in the afternoon, but it is exposed to the sun all day long), whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything. (Surah Noor: Verse 35)

23. Verily! It is We Who have sent down the Qur'an to you (O Muhammad ) by stages.

24. Therefore be patient (O Muhammad ) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.

25. And remember the Name of your Lord every morning and afternoon [i.e. offering of the Morning (Fajr), Zuhr, and 'Asr prayers].

26. And during night, prostrate yourself to Him (i.e. the offering of Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers), and glorify Him a long night through (i.e. Tahajjud prayer).

But their description in the Injil is like a seed which sends forth its shoot, then makes it strong, and becomes thick and it stands straight on its stem, delighting the sowers, that He may enrage the disbelievers with them. Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

Allah is the Protector of those who have faith: from the depths of darkness He will lead them forth into light. And Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "O Haman! Build me a tower that I may arrive at the ways. (Surah Ghafir: Verse 36)

"The ways of the heavens, and I may look upon the Ilah (God) of Musa (Moses) but verily, I think him to be a liar." Thus it was made fair-seeming, in Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the (Right) Path, and the plot of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) led to nothing but loss and destruction (for him). (Surah Ghafir: Verse 37)

And the man who believed said: "O my people! Follow me, I will guide you to the way of right conduct [i.e. guide you to Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism with which Musa (Moses) has been sent]. (Surah Ghafir: Verse 38)

"O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever." (Surah Ghafir: Verse 39)

"Whosoever does an evil deed, will not be requited except the like thereof, and whosoever does a righteous deed, whether male or female and is a true believer (in the Oneness of Allah), such will enter Paradise, where they will be provided therein (with all things in abundance) without limit. (Surah Ghafir: Verse 40)

"And O my people! How is it that I call you to salvation while you call me to the Fire! (Surah Ghafir: Verse 41)

"You invite me to disbelieve in Allah (and in His Oneness), and to join partners in worship with Him; of which I have no knowledge, and I invite you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving! (Surah Ghafir: Verse 42)

"No doubt you call me to (worship) one who cannot grant (me) my request (or respond to my invocation) in this world or in the Hereafter. And our return will be to Allah, and Al-Musrifun (i.e. polytheists and arrogants, those who commit great sins, the transgressors of Allah's set limits)! They shall be the dwellers of the Fire! (Surah Ghafir: Verse 43)

"And you will remember what I am telling you, and my affair I leave it to Allah. Verily, Allah is the All-Seer of (His) slaves." (Surah Ghafir: Verse 44)

So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted (against him), while an evil torment encompassed Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people. (Surah Ghafir: Verse 45)

The Fire; they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon, and on the Day when the Hour will be established (it will be said to the angels): "Cause Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!" (Surah Ghafir: Verse 46)

Your Rabb has decreed to you that: You shall worship none but Him, and you shall be kind to your parents; if one or both of them live to their old age in your lifetime, you shall not say to them any word of contempt nor repel them and you shall address them in kind words.

The Rasool has believed in the Guidance which has been revealed to him from his Rabb and so do the Believers. They all believe in Allah, His angels, His books and His Rasools. They say we do not discriminate against anyone of His Rasools. And they say: "We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, O Rabb; to You we shall all return." (2:285)

The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! (Surah Haaqa: Verse 1)

What is the Reality? (Surah Haaqa: Verse 2)

And what will make you know what the Reality is? (Surah Haaqa: Verse 3)

Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! (Surah Haaqa: Verse 4)

As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! (Surah Haaqa: Verse 5)

And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; (Surah Haaqa: Verse 6)

Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! (Surah Haaqa: Verse 7)

Do you see any remnants of them? (Surah Haaqa: Verse 8)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
(1) Ta-Ha.
(2) We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress,
(3) But only as an admonition to those who fear ((Allah)),-
(4) A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high.
(5) ((Allah)) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority).

Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 67)

(It will be said to the true believers of Islamic Monotheism): My worshippers! No fear shall be on you this Day, nor shall you grieve (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 68)

(You) who believed in Our Ayat (proofs, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were Muslims (i.e. who submit totally to Allah's Will, and believe in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism). (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 69)

Enter Paradise, you and your wives, in happiness. (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 70)

Trays of gold and cups will be passed round them, (there will be) therein all that the one's inner-selves could desire, all that the eyes could delight in, and you will abide therein forever. (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 71)

This is the Paradise which you have been made to inherit because of your deeds which you used to do (in the life of the world). (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 72)

Therein for you will be fruits in plenty, of which you will eat (as you desire). (Surah Zukhruf: Verse 73)

(Yusuf: 24 - 26)

And (with passion) did she desire him, and he would have desired her, but that he saw the evidence of his Lord: thus (did We order) that We might turn away from him (all) evil and shameful deeds: for he was one of Our servants, sincere and purified.

So they both raced each other to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back: they both found her lord near the door. She said: "What is the (fitting) punishment for one who formed an evil design against thy wife, but prison or a grievous chastisement?"

He said: "It was she that sought to seduce me - from my (true) self." And one of her household saw (this) and bore witness, (thus):- "If it be that his shirt is rent from the front, then is her tale true, and he is a liar!

And who has a better religion than he who submits himself entirely to Allah? And he is the doer of good (to others) and follows the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one, and Allah took Ibrahim as a friend.

Assalamu aleykum brothers!

I want to ask you about some ayahs I came across while reading the Qur’an.

Below are the ayahs I am talking about:

15:26 We created man from sounding clay, from mud molded into shape;

15:28 Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud molded into shape;

15:33 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud molded into shape."

Is it possible that the first man that God created might have been a black man?

I couldn’t find any facts about this in Islamic books or websites, but maybe Islamic scholars didn’t study or focus on this issue.

I think people are racists and don’t like the fact that the first man was black therefore they didn’t talk or write about it.

I will be expecting your answer!

Sincerely,

Sefedin Muqaj

I find it strange that the elite of this Ummah didn't elaborate that. There sure is somewhere about that. You should ask a scholar instead of researching for yourself, in sha Allah. :)

All the best neighbour. :D

Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me. (Al-Baqarah 2:152)

And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright. (Al-Baqarah 2:186)

O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat (prayer) on the day of Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allah [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salat (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), that is better for you if you did but know! (Surah Jumuah: Verse 9)

And btw, Jumuah mubarak y'all... :)
