I take a deep sigh and then I write these words
Call me depressing but this life hurts
A fool is only what I can claim to be as time,
Time does but claim me.

Swallowed up in what some consider a game,
Play it I guess, reality is nowhere in the name.
The difference is I will make mistakes
And not be able to turn back and recreate

I look at my friends and see them in pain,
Guilty indeed as the scars remain
Forgive me, please, I beg you now.
Then I turn to myself and wonder how.

^ I like this one the most it matches my mood today

thanks for the comments....funny, I noticed a pattern. Only sisters replied to this :)

my favourite one has to be words:

I ask myself, what am I doing with my life?
No, don’t worry, I’m not going to end it
foolish to think one can escape by the knife
dotted lines of ink where the pen hits
they join together to make words so strong
sticks and stones break bones, but words
Words are deadly. Kill, maim and harm
psychologically lie there dying on the curb
clutch my heart, those words, those words
hit so deep by painful uttering, mutterings
under my breath cursing and hurting
regretting using my tongue so freely now
it will land me in hell if I don’t stop, how
could I possibly speak so ill to my mother
she struggled so hard to give me bread, butter
paradise is at her feet yet the sin I repeat
efforts wasted, hairline rope and then…heat.

wrote a new one:

Do you have a vision?

Do you have a vision…
What, like can I see?
No, do you have sight of where you want to be.

I live the days as they come, he says
What happens tomorrow - I can’t guarantee today
So why bother trying to be something I’m not
Striving towards an ends only to end up in a box.

If only lessons could be learnt through words
Life is an experience to be lived, not heard
Yet schooling seems to be the preferred option
Those high horses falling nearest the bottom.

I have a rough idea of the way out
Sketched in my head is an erroneous route.
The checkpoints are determined by ’success’
To which my answers are but a guess.

Right, left, east, west…
Which direction will put my heart at rest?
“Follow this road, then take the second exit.”
Guidance is clear - but on the path I slip.
Plummet into what they call oblivion
Looking to the sky, the sun at meridian.

I once had a vision, it was clear as day
Then the night came and swept it away.
This is why I ask, if indeed you know,
For I understand why, but not the way to go.

New ones:

a piece of prose

I don’t write prose because it’s harder to hide
Pretend these words have a deeper meaning inside.

Riddles and mixed messages are what I promote
Like telling you my mind is tied to a rope
Running down that non-existent hill
with hopes to witness the morning chill.

The lines between fantasy and reality are blurred
Fatality appears to be my favourite word
With every action, pain incurs
so I no longer listen nor am I heard.

How can I remember when I can’t forget
Cold, but somehow not cold enough yet
The frost melts as the sun rises
The sand scarred with shut eyelids.

Honesty is key to ending this
The truth unlocks a vast abyss
Neverending
Profound
Ignorance -
destroys bliss.
Limbo

Limbo
Like a place between places
Going somewhere but stuck at an oasis
Stopped to rest and replenish myself
Finding it impossible to regain my health.

Waiting…unsure of what is to come
Hopes for the best prepare to be undone
Plan for worst is the way they say,
Glance at the clock. Will I plan for today?

Mirage
A term well used to describe
The disappointment faced and felt inside.
Water doesn’t exist at the place first sighted
Nowhere to be seen as the fires ignited.

The truth is - there is no end,
Looking for reason to make amend
Then will be seen as the end of time arrives,
The contradiction of a mirage is like the broken sky.

I am great respect for people who write poems.

Nice work.

There is also another brother who is a great poet; the man is one of a kind. Deep and mind-provoking poems. I have no idea how he constructs them.

This is one of his poems, he posts them on another forum. I think I just go there so I could read his poems. :D

.

Untitled

Ignore my ignorance for praying for victory
over our enemies as we watch over our troops
who's more holy in a war where both sides
claim spiritual consent and incentives to heaven?
will you fight for the 'holy' trinity or ninety nine virgins?
purge this world of heathens, leave your penance
for repentance and redeem the hearts of men
we've made religion fit like a genie in a God's bottle
rub your souls and sing the songs of Marty’s children
then become a saint, a sacred sinner but one to model
with a pistol clasped between praying hands
we seek the only known roaming promised land
can we plan a last stand before hope disbands
and our bones sink slow into a vacant desert sand.
