As Salam Alaykum.

Hey,

Hope all is well,

I need to write an assignment, the part I need help with is getting information on how the mind can push individuals to perform 'miracles'.

Would also like some writing on the attatchment theories on how people become attatched to God.

If that makes sense?

Greetings and peace be with you Al Habeshi;

What kind of miracles do you have in mind?

Are you talking about psychological tricks to convince the mind and body to new limits in a secular way, or are you talking about prayer and trusting in God to perform miracles?

Take care

Eric

Hmm, interesting. Could use the biased perception (i.e it isn't actually a miracle - you just call it that based on all the evidence you have). Or, it could be that it is a miracle but the individual had no part in it (i.e coincidence)

Attachment theories: I've only studied on attachment with parents. However, depending on the circumstance, the attachment with parents can be used as an explanation. Also, I could make a few educated guesses (with psychology, you can use several theories for one case study) as to why some are attached to God, such as negative and/or positive reinforcement, in addition to compensatory attachments (i.e the person has had bad attachments in the past and this one with God is exponential)

Hey Eric H, I was thinking of like, wanting to do something so bad that you actually end up doing it and then think it is a miracle, I got this from a friend of mine who spoke in tongues.

Also, a girl who wanted to preach and ended up with God telling her to preach to people even though she acknowledge that the Bible told women not to preach/teach men. (am not saying the Bible says that I dont wanna argue baout that, but she believed it did)

So I was looking at various approaches to explain the tongues situation, i.e. socialisation in sociology and in psychology was thinking of Freud and her subconcious making her body do something which she didnt think she was doing?

Sorry I have thought about this for a while but only have personal experiences and not links to academic solutions. I hope you have been able to complete your task.

Take care
