A project is being launched this summer, a group of brothers and sisters have seen a problem in our community and have come up with a solution. People have been entering the deen of Haqq in masses. If we were to count the shahadas taken in London alone, the count would be in its thousands, but we are so intent on converting many to Islam that we forget the quality of these conversions. What have we done to support our new brothers and sisters into the deen? We find that when people accept Islam and that initial emaan rush has faded away, some either slack on their duties as a Muslim or drift into Sufism or other little groups. This is why there is a need for a service that provides authentic info and support for brothers and sisters new to the deen. Our project will focus on educating new muslims on the basic duties of every Muslim and providing a ‘buddy’ for each new brother and sister. As the project is still in its initial stages, we need a lot of support from the community and brothers and sisters who are willing to give their time and effort for the sake of Allah.
