First question

If I buy an apple and a banana, the cost will be $1.19. If I buy an apple and a pear, the cost will be $1.45. If I buy a banana and a pear, the cost will be $1.40. What are the individual prices?

apple 0,62
pear 0,83
banana 0,57

0,62 + 0,57 = 1,19
0,62 + 0,83 = 1,45

There were 3 men who went to an Inn. The man who was sitting at the desk told them that a room is $30, which meant at the end each man decided to pay $10 each for the one room. After a while, the man sitting at the desk remembered that he had made a mistake. The Room should not have been $30 but rather $25. So he quickly called one of his workers, and told him to repay the $5 to the three men. The worker didn’t know how to divide the $5 between the three men, and he was one who lacked basic math skills. So he (the worker) went to the three men and gave them each $1, in other words he lied to them. So the worker kept $2 to himself. Which means that at the end each man paid $9 for the room, which totaled 27, and the worker kept $2.

27+2 is 29. However the original money was $ 30, so we are missing one dollar. Where did it go?

We already Did This oNe :D

There are ma ny ways of explaining/thinking bout this truly brain bending riddle! It all boils down to the fact that the lawyers's math is incorrect. They did NOT spend $9 • 3 + $2.
They spent exactly $27 dollars. $25 for the room and $2 for the tip. Remember they got exactly $3, in total back.
Another way to think about the answer to this riddle is to just pretend that the bellhop refunded $3 to the lawyers (rather than giving them $5 and recieving $2 back). If the lawyers get $3 back and each takes $1. They they spent exactly $27 dollars.

OK, here's my riddle I made up. I think it may be impossible to work out (not being arrogant) but have a try, trial and improvement may solve it:

0.5 + A = B

√B + C = 10

C x ³√D = 10 + 4

Lol. OK I'll give you a slight hint.

The bits highlighted in red indicate that the square root of B is a whole number, and the square root of numbers are usually not whole, which limits the guesses.

Saying the answer to that would give the answer to two letters, so I won't answer that I'm afraid. If time drags on and you're really stuck, then I might answer questions like that.

OK I've just been notified that you've all given up, so I'll give the answers.

A = 8.5
B = 9
C = 7
D = 8

So it becomes:

0.5 + 8.5 = 9

Sq9 + 7 = 10
= 3+7=10

7 x cube squared of 8 = 10 + 4
= 7 x 2 = 10 + 4
= 14 = 14

:D
