View Full Version : Arabic conversation thread

:sl:

I started this thread as a place for those learning arabic as well as those who already know arabic, to practice, and discuss in arabic. (No English here - except this post)

So someone please pick a topic of conversation, and we will begin insha'Allah. (even if that topic is how rubbish an idea this thread is...so long as you articulate yourself in arabic)

Can we use the vocab we'd use when having guests around? Meaning food drink, likes and dislikes (in food and drink)...erm...hobbies and introducing ourselves?

Actually, to further clarify, no transliteration! None of this Ismeeeeee Fulaaaaaan bin Fulaaaan.

Only Arabic text insha'Allah. Those without arabic keyboards click here. Very useful website. Failing that, you could use this Also text should be changed to size 4, so it is quite large and clear.

i.e.

السلام عليكم. كيف حالكم اليوم؟

WassalamuAlaykum
Sure, I guess we could start off by introducing ourselves, our likes/dislikes etc.. and take it from there.

:sl:

Well, you don't have to use yamli, could also use use the online arabic keyboard. I would much rather this thread be in arabic text, since this will help us also improve our reading/spelling of arabic script. Besides, I have used yamli for a while, and it's accurate once you get the hang of it.

Could we do this instead - start a conversation and just continue like that. Ok lets say I start:

إسمي سمكة، أنا من فلسطين. و أنت/انتي؟

such sentence is rather funny lol

it means :

It is 7 o'clock ,I'm having boiled rice and fried fish ,what about you?

and there are some errors in the spelling too .to be correct sntence it should be:

الساعة السابعة، اتناول ارز مطبوخ وسمك مقلى،وماذا عنك؟

No wonder sister to think of me like that, as most of the members who visit and post in the Arabic section are sisters.....

I'm happy and proud of them all ........

I have the accent which common in Cairo and around it and the big cities

I utter Gamal instead of dJammal

the second accent is the original Arabic accent as there is no (G) as in (Good)
in the Quran ,it is (dj)

in other words neither (G) nor (J)

example:

جاء(Djaa)

means (came)

once I compared the Egyptian accent to the standard Arabic and found out that such accent tries to safe the efforts of the organs of speech by avoiding some consonants needs much effort by the organs of speech and replacing them with others easier.......

a big topic .......just I talk in general not specific....

thanx dear sister for your effort

by the way what is that means?

I modified the sentence to be grammaticaly correct inshaAllah

وماذا عن اللهجات العربية ؟الا تعتقد انها ابسط واسهل من العربية الفصحى لمن يريد ان يتعلمها من غير العرب؟

and the answer to such question should be:

الاجابة على ذلك تكون طبقا لظروف المتعلم ، فاذا اراد العيش فى دولة عربية فيجب عليه تعلم لهجتها ،واذا اراد تعلم لهجة يفهمها معظم العرب فانصحه بتعلم اللهجة المصرية
