what makes prayer valid and invalid?

can you please verify for me a hadith which states if someone doesn't attend prayer at mosque when azan is recited then his prayer is invalid?

as far as i know prayer is valid if you remember allah for it

please give me answers with an open-mind, what makes prayer valid according to quran (and sunnah)
