correct me if im wrong:-

Fajr : 2 fard and 2 sunnah = 4
Zuhur : 4 Sunnah, 4 fajr, 2 sunnah, 2 nafl, = 12
Asr : 4 Sunnah, 4 Fard = 8
Magrib : 3 fard, 2 sunnah, 2 nafl = 7
Esha : 4 sunnah, 4 fard, 2 sunnah, 2 nafl, 3 witr, 2 nafl = 17

is that wot u meant

tc wot does wajib mean

the prayers u have to do :-
Fajr : 2 fard and 2 sunnah = 4
Zuhur : 4 Sunnah, 4 fajr, 2 sunnah, = 10
Asr : 4 Fard = 4
Magrib : 3 fard, 2 sunnah, = 5
Esha : 4 fard, 2 sunnah, 3 witr, = 9

pls check out this post:
http://www.islamicboard.com/new-musl...4-praying.html

the wajib or fard i.e obligatory one are only 5:
fajr:2 rak'as
duhr:4
asr:4
maghreb:3
eisha:4

as for the sunnah (=nafela)
they are mustahab i.e prefered or beloved but not obligatory
the most persistently prayed by the prophet pbuh and known as "al sunan al rawateb" or "al sunan al mu'akada" are as follows:
fajr: 2 rak'as before
duhr: 2(or 4) before and 2(or 4) after, the scholars have differed
asr: none
maghreb: 2 after
eisha: 2 after
also it is sunnah to pray "shaf3"(2 rak'as) and watir (1 rak'a) right before sleeping or after eisha

but in general you can pray as many rak'as of sunnah as you wish, although a good practice is to start with less and work your way up as you get stronger.
"the deeds most beloved to Allah are those that are consistently carried out even if they are small"
