MashaAllah sis Fatima, your art work is very pretty.
I tried again and again to attach my art work here, but the size was the main problem. So i resized it, in the process lost the bigger pic, making it smaller and smaller. And finally when that was done, it said the file was too big :exhausted

A few years ago I did a number using paint and gif animater. They take considerable time to do as you typically need to do from 10 to 16 drawings foe each second of animation.
But they are fun. Here are some of my old ones. Keep in mind these were done before I reverted.
Now I am inspired to do some with an Islamic theme. It may take me a few days as they do take a bit of time to make. That last one above took me about 8 hours for example.
But check back here every few days and I will have some posted. Anything I post is free for snagging if anybody wants them.

If you save your Paint drawings in GIF format you can do some nice effects with them using free online GIF editors.
This site has some fantastic GIF editing tools.

what can be done.
Here is a simple paint drawing I just did:

It is a trade off. JPEG probably gives the highes quality pictures, While GIF allows for more editing options and allows for more effects.
An option, although time consuming is to save the picture as a JPEG, Give it a name such as Image. Open the saved JPEG picture with Paint, save it as a GIF but name it Imagegif and open imagegif with paint and use the paint tools to go over and brighten the colors etc.and resave as a gif.

You need to first upload it to an image host and then link to the image url using the IMG tags.
For example my picture above is hosted on my photobucket account:
My posting of it is:
[ IMG ]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/sytall/Homemade/Animation.gif[ /IMG ]
without the spaces in the IMG tags

well....finally I find some of my "ancient" stuff after digging on my hard disk when I was learning photoshop 2 years ago.....Now I feel that everything I learned had been wiped off imsad
I used to write some things on pictures like this one as a beginning:
and play with some other pictures by adding some more affects and merge some together like this:
will post more if any one likes them :)

MashAllah, nice work brothers and sisters.
I do see the wisdom behind using just Paint. It restricts the tools you can use, and you must rely a lot of your creativity and have a lot of patience to design something amazing. Pixel art is one of those examples :)

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.
It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.
GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted.

Mila, don't you know that the severest punishment on the Day of Judgment is of the picture-maker and that Allah will tell the picture-maker on the Day of Judgment to put soul in the picture of living thing that he/she made and since he/she will be unable to do it, so he/she will punished in Hell. While I agree with that 99.999% at a minimum. I think it would be best that a person seek a ruling from a recognized scholar as to it's application regarding computer generated images. The reasons some scholars are trying to come to an agreement are:
1, If it is on the screen and not printed out there is no "real" image to touch or preserve.
2. There never is any actual images on a computer screen, what we see is an optical illusion produced by rapidly blinking microscopic dot of light. (Glowing phosphor atoms) at no point is there ever a complete image on the screen. The image is lines of lithted phoaspors and blinking I believe 60 times per second. At no time are more than one third of the lines glowing.
3. There are also other reasons, which I can not think of.
It is best to seek the advice of a scholar. I do agree that until there is a clear ruling explaining they are halal, it is best to assume (in this case) it is haram. It is quite clear we are not to make images of any living things.
But the question to be answered is if a computer image is an image. If we could perceive light changes in 60 changes per second we would not see an images on the screen, just randomly blinking dots. If you tried to takes a photograph of a computer image with a shutter speed faster than a 1/60 second shutter speed, you would not see an image on the photograph. We see the image because the fastest speed we can distinguish different illusions is about 12 per second. Anything faster we see as individual frames.
Before we as individuals make an opinion, lets us seek the advice of a knowledgeable scholar.

Where are these knowledgeable scholars? I can never find them.
Anyway I agree it's best just acted upon as if it's not allowed even if we don't know for certain, to say it technically not a picture on a computer screen sounds to me like a sneaky work-around that Allah would see right through.
Oh but do I miss drawing animals... *eye twitch* it was like my #1 favourite thing in the entire world to do. Now it's gone... all gone... *sob* I know it's wrong to grieve over doing something Allah likes. But if I could control my own feelings I'd snap my fingers and make myself not like drawing animals. Only Allah can change that though, and He has chosen not to, for one reason or another He wants me to still like it.
I can't draw anything on paint but I sometimes do stuff on photoshop because I use layers a lot.

lets not be swayed by scholars who give advice that is against Quraan and Sunnah. We don't want to end up like the jews who accepted whatever their rabbis told them without caring what was written in the scripture.
here we're talking about art drawn by Paint program or Photoshop and not digital photographs, where some may argue that the process is natural, something to do with light being captured or whatever (i don't know what the process is) and the photo hasn't been printed out, etc. Here the photo has been drawn even if the movements were with a mouse. i think it's the same as making picture with pen. it doesn't matter whether you can preserve it or not, whether the picture is stored digitally using 0s and 1s, whether it is actually there or not. if it can be seen, then it is wrong to make it and Allah will ask why it was made.
The Prophet (SAW)'s hadith were for all times and he knew very well about digital picture making.

Good point and again I agree with you. Best evidence I have seen presented that would show that computer images are haram.

Ameoba, that is a very beautiful, very realistic picture. you're very talented.
Is photoshop much better than Paint? I've never used it. I should learn it.
As another member posted here, you're better off getting Gimp, does pretty much the same stuff (even some advanced features are similar). It's free and can be found in a quick google search, whereas you can only acquire photoshop at a great cost or illegally. Neither of which I would recommend. The only disadvantage I think is that Gimp isn't as easy to use if you want to use filters and textures.
