Yup, the setting isn't the greatest, I agree.
But there's also the chance he won't change his mind.
It could be a phase like Guven said, or he really could believe that islam is the truth.

and the yelling was coming from exciting people to have a new muslim

I never been but a couple of sisters i know have and adviced me not to go in the future because the event itself is not very *islamic*

But allah swt knows best:)
