View Full Version : Verse by Verse Recitation - no "melody"

:sl:

I'm not sure what it's called when there is no "melody" to the Qur'an recitation, but I'm looking to obtain a verse by verse breakdown with no melody. This is so I can better learn to read the Qur'an and pronounce words properly.

I tried going to versebyversequran.com, but all of their stuff seems to have a melody in the recitation.

Anybody have any suggestions? I'm guessing there probably isn't an audio file of the whole Qur'an recited this way, since it's usually not common to hear it without a melody, but I would be happy with a few short Suras or a medium-length one.

wa 'alaykum salaam;

the best qari tolisten to if you want to improve pronunciation/tajweed is Mahmood Khaleel al-Husary: http://quranicaudio.com/quran/16. Also, al-Minshaawi is very good: http://quranicaudio.com/quran/6 .

Also try this: http://quranicaudio.com/quran/55; the Qari recites one ayah, and children repeat after.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum Wa Rahamtullah,

In addition to the above you may also want to try:

http://transliteration.org/quran/Web...ble/Fram2E.htm

The recitor is Hudayfhi which is slow in his recitation and maybe not as melodious as others.

I'm looking for the same thing.
It is ridiculous that there is no Quran recitation without melody in the entire world.

The proper way to recite the Qur'an is with melody, and this may even help you to pronounce things properly. I think what you need is a slow and clear recitation such as those linked to above, not a complete absence of melody.
