I am putting together our vacation this year and am eyeing Turkey (Istanbul to be exact) as our destination of choice. The history, people and architecture are just too much of a draw 
For those who live there or have traveled through Istanbul, can you recommend the best hotel or best area to stay? Time of year? And any other great general tips to make a trip there all that much better.
