Blindness and Its Cure

From the poetry of al Asma'ee (may Allah have mercy on him):
شَفَاءُ اَلْعَمَى طُوْلُ السُّؤَالِ
The cure for blindness (ignorance)
is found in lengthy questioning,
وَ إِنَّمَا تَمامُ اَلْعَمَى طُوْلُ السُّكُوتِ عَلَى الجَهْلِ
and a lengthy silence upon ignorance
is but total utter blindness.
