Yes, I do. It plays files with .flv format, which is rather helpful when downloading youtube videos. I'm too lazy to convert.

Is vlc the one with the hat-like icon? I can't use that one because it looks ugly on my desktop.

You can't play .rmvb or .rv files in VLC player, can you?

^Yup, I just tried. The sound comes out broken and there's no image. Tch. VLC allows ScreenCap easily. I thought it wasn't so bad until I realised 91% of my files are .rmvb and VLC doesn't play them.

It's not that I'm trying to escape real player... I'm just trying to find a player that allows me to Screencap easily. So far BSPlayer and VLC are the only ones that do so. With the former, rmvb and rv files can be played but there's not sound nor can I screencap.

Capture a screen shot. I know you can prt sc it then paste it on paint... But that's a lengthy process.

I only use WMP. Occasionally I accidentally open Real Player when I download a .rm file... I hate Real Player only cuz it takes up too much resources. imsad I just realized the only reason we used to download .rm files long back was cuz we had dial up, and .rm files are tiny so they are quickk to download. lol.

The Ruler, you should be able to take a screen shot with WMP.

  • Open Window Media Player
  • Then go to Tools > Options > Select the "Perfomance" tab.
  • At the bottom of that window click the "Advanced" button.
  • Uncheck “Use Overlays’ and click ok.

Hope that works inshaAllah. That's how I did it when I took some screenshots.

Thanks, but because rm files are tiny, there are more of those than there are of wmp.

The screencap I'm talking about would be several frames in a few seconds. Unless I pause and go through that procedure again and again, I won't be able to do what I want to do. And doing that would ruin the video I'd be watching.
