Is Islam a continuation of Christianity?

semantics aside yes. according to islam, "christianity" is one of the points of islamic lineage. they are both islam.

Islam is not a continuation of any religion, Islam is the only true religion that was.

First What do you mean by Christianity? if you mean current Christians then the answer will be simply No ?

But

If Christianity means the teaching of Prophet Eisa (Peace be Upon Him) then note that the message of all the prophets from Prophet Adam (Peace be upon Him) to last Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) and all the prophets between them bring the same message of Allah to us.
The message of all of the prophets is the same islam that is we have to follow the commandments of Allah and have to spent our life according to the commandments of Allah.

It is the continuation and finalization of what was revealed to "Jesus" and and all the other Prophets before him.

God told christians in bible that there will be another prophet which is prophet Mohammed peace be upon him and ordered them to follow him when he come.some of bible was changed or hidden by humans then God revealed Islam correcting what was changed in bible by humans .
(O people of the Scripture! Our Messenger, who has come to you, unfolds many teachings of the Scripture which you had kept hidden, and many a thing he passes over. There has come to you, indeed, from Allâh a Light and the perspicuous Book (- the Qur'ân) that distinguishes the right from the wrong)(translation of quran 5:15).

every muslim must believe that Jesus is a messenger of Allah ,must believe in the prophet before him too
(The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him by his Lord and (so do) the faithful. Everyone believes in Allâh, His angels, His Books and His Messengers. (And the faithful declare,) `We make no distinction (in believing) between any of His Messengers.' They say, `(Lord!) we have heard (Your commandments) and we are obedient. (Grant us) Your protection, Our Lord! for to You is the returning.')(translation of Quran 2:285)

so the answer of your question is yes Islam is continuation of Christianity ,but it`s a continuation to the Christianity which was revealed by God to Jesus peace upon him not continuation to the changed and edited by humans christianity
