Ajwa (عجوة) is a soft dry variety of date fruit from Saudi Arabia. It is cultivated at Madina Monawara. A delightfully soft and fruity date with fine texture.

The Messenger (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said, “Whoever has seven Ajwa dates every morning he will not be harmed on that day by poison or magic.”

[Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5445) (5768) (5769) (5779)].

The Messenger (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said, “Ajwa dates are from paradise.”

[Tirmidhee (2068) he said hasan Saheeh and it was authenticated by Shaikh al-Albaani].

Referring to eating seven Ajwa dates, the Messenger (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said, “He will not be harmed by anything until he reaches the evening.”

[Saheeh Muslim (2047)].

These dates cost around 70 Saudi Riyals per KiloGram.

There are also "imitations" or some sold an inferior quality dates and "conned" the customers as "AJWA dates" To know whether its AJWA, look closely at the dates. There are very fine white lines on the dates.

[Saheeh Muslim (154) (2047)].

Dates In One’s Home

The Messenger (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said, “O Aisha! A house that has no dates in it their family is hungry. Oh Aisha! A house that has no dates in it their family is hungry.”

Masha'Allah! Those dates are such good benefits for our healths!

Muslim Book 023, Number 5083:

'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The 'ajwa' dates of 'Aliya' contain heating effects and these are antidote in the early morning.

Dates are rich in several vitamins and minerals. When the level of trace elements falls in the body, the health of the blood vessels is affected leading to an increased heart-rate and a consequent inability to perform its function with normal efficiency. As dates are also rich in calcium, they help to strengthen the bones. When the calcium content in the body decreases, children are affected with rickets and the bones of adults become brittle and weak.

Dates are also important in keeping up the health of eyes. It is quite effective in guarding against night-blindness. In the early years of Islam, dates served as food for Muslim warriors. They used to carry them in special bags hung at their sides. They are the best stimulant for muscles and so the best food for a warrior about to engage in battle.

Jazaak'Allah Khair dear sis.

Alhumdulillah the best dates i've had!
The first batch we had weren't exactly anything to shout about....unless your a sissy:p Simple reason cos they had maggots or whatever they are moving around inside... Someone did tell me to ignore the maggots and just eat the dates, just treat the creatures as extra barakah:p
Im sorry i just couldn't....fortunately our second batch was fresh from the factory where they got packed and they were tip top, top of the pops as far as dates go!

So simple, yet you get a certain feel when you have them, something inside:)
Adios!
