Tell me brother what did you gain from that gaze?
A seconds worth of pleasure
But the sickness left behind the unseen destroyer
Your taqwa your memory, your knowledge crumbling around you
Was it worth it?

Tell me brother did she becomes yours?
You forget so quick your moment of weakness
But the angels they do not lie
When the scrolls are thrown out for the world to see
when you will scrimp and save like a man possessed
Then where will you hide?

Tell me brother would you like that your mother sees you admiring?
Your Lord is more worthy of your restrain
Believe me when I say
The floor is a friend more worthy of your attention
Believe me when I say
Fires are started with small twigs

Tell me brother why are you so ungrateful?
The heart is a gift
The one who lent it to you gave it pure
Yet you return it blackened and bruised

Tell me brother how do you stoop so low?
Eyes are the precious pearls that no price can afford
Eyes are windows to the soul
Not a blemish you allow on your clothes
But the dirt is filling you inside

Tell me brother how long will you lie?
Your desires call to you
Able to convince that the look is one of need.
But really you know the truth.


Tell me brother would you rather have better?
Peace of mind in this life
Sparkling heart and speech
Humility that no money can buy
Loved by the people and loved by your Rubb
What waits in the Hereafter the eye has yet to see…


Tell me brother why do you sell yourself short?
A Muslimah to stand by your side
Worth far more then you will ever know
A companion so pleasing to you
The world would come a distant second
If only you but knew…
