''mızraklı ilmihal''(M) is an old basic fıqh(Islamic principles and laws) book which is the most famous book to be read in Ottoman Empire. it discusses the Islamic matters with an evidence based method, successfully.

if we say that, the most of the Ottoman civilian learn their religion with M
at the first step, it wouldn't be wrong. because M was known as the most reliable book and so Ottoman Empire chose M to be read in medreses(Ottoman schools).

however, interestingly we haven't know who was the author of the M yet.
by the years, many of Islamic scholar added a lot of fıqh knowledges to the book. but none of them write their name to the book, maybe with a humulity.
because of a lance(=mızrak, in turkish) shape on the book it was called
lanced fıqh(=mızraklı ilmihal)
