Asalamu 3alaykum....Just wanted to share some of my writings, inshaALLAH it is not an issue with anyone. They are not much, but I do enjoy writing poetry...Enjoy reading!

*For the Brothers*

They call you oppressors
Transgressors
They say you don’t know how to respect a lady
Wanting you clean shaven to look like Greg Brady
But the sisters want you to follow the Sunnah and grow a beard
Coz without it you look very weird
The lost are only trying to mislead
They hate to see you in this Dunya succeed
Tempting you with women on TV and in Magazines
Making it hard to lower you gaze
Wanting you to only follow their twisted ways
To abandon Islam is what they’re after
Trying to destroy your chances in this Dunya and the Hereafter
Take it from someone who’s been discriminated against for wearing Hijab
Everyday I’m faced with people telling me to take off my Jilbab
A constant struggle I’m faced with on a daily basis
People looking at me with confused faces
The Prophet PBUH said this Deen started strange and will end strange
My Deen for this Dunya I refuse to exchange
Just like you’ve stood by me and supported me all along
I write this for you so you can keep your head up and be strong
Take pride in Islam and don’t ever forget
When death comes knocking there will be no time to regret

*************************************

They look at you with sad eyes
Thinking you are easily manipulated with lies
Trying their best to "liberate" you
Armed with deception they come your way
"Come to Jesus Christ" they say
"Where a woman is free"
Tell them, I love Jesus (pbuh)
He's a great prophet indeed
But a God he is not, you see
As for your so called freedom
It does not appeal to me
Islam is my path and I'm already free

**********************************

I am the Muslim woman blessed with ambition
My Hijab is not a sign of oppression
I am not one to be timid by your arrogance
I'm a Muslimah and purity is my innocence
Don’t think my veil conveys darkness
For my heart is full of light
I cover to rid the annoyance of the mindless
Never am I some eye candy for your sight
I cover for my Lord out of devotion
And I refuse to give in to your useless commotion
I’m more than just a face in a crowd
My beauty is hidden under the shroud
If I never make eye contact with you
Never assume it's from fear or insecurities
For Islam has cleansed us from impurities
Never take my bashfulness for uncertainty
For bashfulness is part of modesty

Thank you for reading *smiles*
