أينَ النضارةُ والجمالُ .. وأينَ رائحــةُ الـــعطــــورْ ؟!
Where are the beauties and the purity, and the nice fragrance
أينَ ابتسامتكَ التي منها .. يشــعُ سَنــا الــســـــرورْ ؟!
Where is your smile that was stunning with happiness?
بلْ أينَ صوتكُ في المجالس ... ذلكَ الصوتُ الجهورْ؟!
Nay, where is your distinctive voice that we used to hear in our gatherings?
بلْ أينَ عزتكَ التي صعدتْ .. إلــى بــرج الـغــرورْ؟!
Nay, Where is your pride that reached the tower of selfishness?
بلْ أينَ ذكركَ بعدما .. كنــتَ المعــرّفَ والــشهيـــــرْ؟!

هلْ مخبرٌ عن ذلك المسكينِ .. كــيفَ هــو الــمصيــرْ؟!
Does anyone know what happened to that "poor" person and his destiny?
كـمْ كــانَ ينقــلُ خطـــوةُ .. بيــنَ الــبـراريْ والــبحــورْ
He was walking around through the hills and seas
والآنَ قدْ قـَصُرتْ خطاهُ .. عــن الــتنقــل والــمسيــرْ
And now he can’t go anymore or even move from place to another
أمســىَ أسيــراً يــال ذُلــِكَ .. بعــدَ عِــزكَ يــاأسيـــرْ
He spent his night as a captive after he was so proud of his life
وغدا فراشــكَ منْ ترابٍ .. لاغــطــاءَ ولا ســريــــــرْ
Your bed now is only dirt on earth without a cover like a normal bed
قــمْ يــاأخي فـي الليــــل .. واقرع بــابَ تــوابٍ غفورْ
Arise in the night, O brethren in faith, and knock on the door of your God for forgiveness
أوَ مايُذكــركَ الظــلامُ .. ظــلامَ مُــوحِشــةِ الــقبــــورْ

أطل السجودَ لعلَّ وجهكَ .. أنْ يفــوزَ ببعــض نــورْ
Lengthen the Prostration to your God so that your face may earn some light
منْ نورِ خــلاَّق البرايــا .. فــي المقابــرِ والنشـــــورْ
A light from the creator of all creatures in the graves or above the earth
واكسرْ قيودَ الإثم واجعلْ .. روحــكَ العُليــا تطيـــــرْ
break the chains of sins and make your elevated soul fly
واطــردْ غيــومَ الهمِّ يــا .. محزونُ عن روض الشعورْ
Eject the clouds of worry from your heart that made you miserable
تـُبْ ياأخي .. تـُبْ ياأخي .. فــالله غفـَّــارٌ شــكــــــــورْ
