Many of the movies that have hit the big screen over the last few years share a common subject as part of their storyline. These films question reality—or the real world, as we know it—pointing out that artificially created dream worlds or worlds produced by simulations can actually be quite realistic.
These films also deal with suggestions, thus far represented only as food for thought at scientific gatherings, of how these questions could affect our lives.
What is real? How do you define "real"? If you're talking about your senses—what you feel, taste, smell, or see—then all you're talking about are electrical signals interpreted by your brain.
Doubtless one of the foremost reasons why these films, based on scientific explanations, captivate the attention of millions is the fact that people now question the reliability of the external world's assumptions and preconditions.

Actually, people have been doing that since long before movies were invented. They were, and are, called 'philosophers' and idealism has been around an awful lot longer than Harun Yahya.

I am curious, though... idealism is not a philosophy I would normally associate with Islam, even Yahya's rather odd interpretation of it . What next, solipsism? Surely this can't be any sort of 'mainstream' position?
 
Idealism - the theory that Barkely came up with wasnt he a christain?

Ps - he uses God - so maybe thats why Harun Yahya used it.........

Just to add Al Ghazzali did doubt the senses....... - there was discussion if Descartes should have gave credit to Al Ghazzali.

Possibly. Berkeley was indeed a Christian Bishop, and although his philosophy isn't inherently 'Christian' it certainly has room for God.

That would rather depend on whether he had read him, I suppose. I'm not aware of any evidence that he had, and it seems likely that whatever ideas they did have in common were reached independently.
 
Well, Star Wars for instance, the force was said to be based off of Zen, at least I believe that is what they made such a big fuss about.

Movies make people attracted to them by super-natural things, un-natural or other things, and they make them more interesting by adding a philsophy/belief in the ability of these things, to make them better a person, whether physically, mentally, or some other way. . Some movies that do this:

The Matrix (as mentioned above), Star Wars, Bulletproof Monk, and a lot of Oriental movies that show Kung Fu as a way to jump from building to building, or to jump 50 feet in the air, and land with grace.

He brings God in his argument - atleast thats what i learnt at college.

Philosophical idealism is a tradition that includes many philosophers.

Harun Yahya is desperate, and will use any thinker who he thinks is vaguely respectable to try and support his absurd worldview.
