salaam all-
the following poems have been written by my beloved classmate. Respecting her wishes, I have left her name out. She is truly an amazing person, gifted with the love of Allah SWT and His Prophet SAW. She is always striving to become closer to her Beloved through many many means. These poems are a small example. Please make dua for her, myself and the Bukhari class of 08/09.
Ishqi-Haqeeqi

I have a paint pot
Full of the love of Rasool-ullah
I want to paint the walls of the earth green-
for the dome of Rasool-ullah
I want to sprinkle the clouds
With glitter, from the tears
Of Rasool-ullah
I want to cover the sea with shiny mirrors,
to radiate the reflection
Of Rasool-ullah
I want to give the birds a drum
To sing the cries of Rasool-ullah
But most of all
I want to ignite a flame
In the heart of every muslim
To burn the love of Habeeb-ullah

Just One Wish…

I wish I was the raindrop
That fell upon your cheek

I wish I was the stone
Upon which you stood

I wish I was the cloak
That kept you warm

I wish I was the cave
In which you fled

I wish I was the spider
That spun your web

I wish I was the one
To make you smile

I wish I was the pillow
Upon which you slept

I wish I was the sword
You held

But most of all I wish, in Uhud,
I was your defence.

0ne More Beat

When his name is called
The stars twinkle and tickle the breeze
The breeze jumps with zeal
Collecting the tiny droplets of water
Which splash into the ocean
Scribbling His name.

The sparkle from the call of His name
Illuminates the dead grave
Which was once possessed by greed, envy and lust.
Is today with the touch of his name, varnished with love.

The dead eyes see my Beloved’s name on the cloth of His house
While the lover’s eyes see His name
On leaves, walls and faces too.

His name is not hollow like a thirsty, dry cave, but is sweeter and purer
Than fresh dripping honey.
When it enters the mind
The soul grips its sound and the limbs
Feel the vibe of ecstasy.

It’s like a rainbow after a rainy day
Or a splash of cold water in the scorching heat
It works faster than a dozen pain killers
And leaves behind the aroma of musk.

The lover’s eyes shed tears onto the prayer mat
The dangling beads cultivate the thoughts of their beloved
While the heart restlessly awaits
One more beat

Falaq (The Dawn)

A beam in the midst
Amongst the clouds of darkness
A ray forces itself in
Proudly the curtains reveal the light
A lamp in the shape of a man
Nature bows down
Lowering itself in humility
Animals take refuge in him
Trees take shade beneath him
A spider spins its web in admiration
Each sight turns stone to gold

The rays creep silently
Covering the shadows
Each black spot cleansed
Merely through reflection
Salvation lies in peace and submission

But not everyone finds the purpose radiant
Blessed feet- now bloody and bruised
Soft smile- smothered with stained teeth
Caring cheeks- coldly coloured purple

Yaa Rasool-ullah (saw)
May my mother and father be sacrificed for you.

(BASED ON THE BATTLE OF UHAD)

ﻤﻥ ﻜﺍﻥ ﷲ

ﷲ ﻟﻪ
(Whoever becomes Allah’s
Allah becomes His)

I cannot say this pen is mine
For the fear of the love of another
You’ve engraved your name
Delicately on my heart
Now the temptation to please you
Will haunt me forever.

I desire to sit alone and ponder
To feel the burst of beats
And the pangs of hunger
While the eyes are closed
And the night is calm

You’ve shown me yourself
As the pearl beneath the ocean
Hidden beneath the world’s weed
Now I’m learning to drown
In the river of your love

I’ve searched so many minds
But none see through this window
My thoughts are so simple
Yet none but you can read the language
Of my soul.

I listen to the wind howling
And the cats competing
This love I can not contain no longer

Yet the world still continues
Banging on these deaf drums of mine
They don’t know
My world ended
When I gave myself to you.

heres another one:
The Living and the Dead

Within her, a room full of cobwebs and darkness
The stench of this barbaric world
Crispy notes, self praise and arrogance
Piled up in realms
Tools of pride and hammers of hatred
Hung up by the side
Unanimously loved and envied by all
Camouflaged in her white clean cloak
With no spec of dust or dirt.

Smacking past a weak, dusty creature
Tossed and chuckled at by every hand but one
An illusion of mist and grey
Hiding the beauty of humility,
Simplicity and reflection
Like a shell of the ocean
Whistling the whispers of glorification
Her giant in chains and her love dispersed.

This tiny tug of war
Between light and darkness
Wisely intertwined like the day and night
So that His friend may remain His alone
Undiscovered by impure eyes.

Here is another poem. My sincerest apologies for the (8 month :X) delay.
Please remember both of us in your duas.
I have a few more, however I think it's best not to post them all together, so the beauty of each one can be fully appreciated before the next one comes along.

Fallen from Grace

Ask the clouds to tell my story
Ask the raindrops about my tears
You were my shimmering sun
Now my eyes are veiled
And my heart is stone

I cry tears of blood
But my bowl is empty of love
I used to sip rivers of desire
Now my lips have run dry

The rainbow reminded me of your smile
But my sins washed it away
The stars reminded me of your guidance
But my sins melted them way

Oh Allah I’ve sent my salam
To the heavens
With a note saying
‘I’m sorry’ please accept my invitation

Your sinful slave is withering away.

The Prophet SAW’s Smile

If I could travel the world
Just to see your smile I would
If I could paint your smile
I’d gather all the colours of the Earth

Your smile is located in the depths
of my mind and sealed
by the shells of my eyes
it’s more precious than the pearls
from the ocean bed
and more dazzling than the flames
from the blazing sun

When it begins to appear on your face
It’s like the opening of the horizon
At the break of dawn

I’ve never seen such beauty
I could topple the world
But nothing would compare

I could live off your smile
And breathe off its magic
Every limb of yours was created with a special touch
But your smile must have been designed with a special brush.

Sinful Soul

The road is rough and rugged
My legs are limping, body burdensome
Steps are forced further
Lifting with great strength
The thorns prickle and the bees sting
But the journey is necessary

So many turnings
So easy to get lost
Surrounded by so many people
Yet completely isolated
Heart absorbed in regret
No friends now
Just you and me
And me and you

I drop to the rubbly road
Now helpless and numb
Taking out my hands
My fingers shake, eyes fill up
Lips tremble.

Oh my beloved I have sinned again

Seeing as I've been given full permission to post these anywhere, that shouldn't be a problem. However, I'll get in touch with my classmate to make doubly sure, inshaAllah.
