:sl:

As usual, my non-Muslim "friends" just come across some ahadeeth where seemingly our Creator "belittle" black race. They mock me like hell saying I should not believe in the religion which we are dehumanized, trivialized and the likes.

Please, I fully well know these allegation are nothing but a pure lie and fairy tales. Yet I wanna get these ahadeeth meaning elaborated so as to depend myself and my faith. May Allah, the Exalted, reward you amply. Thanks.

The Ahadeeth:

1-
Bukhari:V4B52N137 "The Prophet said, 'Let the negro slave of Dinar perish. And if he is pierced with a thorn, let him not find anyone to take it out for him, If he [the black slave] asks for anything it shall not be granted, and if he needs intercession [to get into paradise], his intercession will be denied.'"

2-
Tirmidhi hadith 38, Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: Allah created Adam when He had to create him and He struck his right shoulder and there emitted from it white offspring as if they were white ants. He struck his left shoulder and there emitted from it THE BLACK OFFSPRINGS as if they were charcoal. He then said (to those who had been emitted) from the right (shoulder): For Paradise and I do not mind. Then He said to those (who had been emitted) from his left shoulder: They are for HELL and I do not mind. Transmitted by Ahmad. (ALIM CDROM)

3-
Ishaq:243 "I heard the Apostle say: 'Whoever wants to see Satan should look at Nabtal!' He was a black man with long flowing hair, inflamed eyes, and dark ruddy cheeks, , Allah sent down concerning him: 'To those who annoy the Prophet there is a painful doom." [9:61] "Gabriel came to Muhammad and said, 'If a black man comes to you his heart is more gross than a donkey's.'"

Anything that goes against holy Quran can not considered as truth to Muslims. In Quran Allah says that means He does not look at one's colour , property etc. The best among human is the one who fears God most .

InshaAllah I will try to post the verse soon.

O Mankind! Most certainly, it is We (God almighty) who have Created you all from a single (pair) of a male and a female. And it is we who have made you into nations and tribes, that ye may recognise each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is (He who is) the most righteous of you. „

—(Qur'an 49:13)

“ All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. „

—(Hadith, Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 7, Ch. 3)

Islam's manifesto of Universal brotherhood of human beings

by Abdul Malik Mujahid

From the Quran

"O Mankind, We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other. Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is he who is the most righteous of you" (Quran 49:13).

Explanation: There are several principles, which this verse presents:
  1. This message is not just for Muslims only because God is addressing all of humanity. While Muslims are one brotherhood, this is part of a larger brotherhood of humanity.
  2. God is telling us that He has created us. Therefore He knows the best about us.
  3. He says that He created us from one man and one woman meaning then that we are all the same.
  4. It also means that all human beings are created through the same process, not in a manner in which some are created with a better mechanism than others.
  5. God is the One who made human beings into different groups and people.
  6. These differences are not wrong, rather a sign from God ("And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colors. Verily, in that are indeed signs for those who know" [Quran 30:22]).
...Don't take pride in ancestry:

The Prophet said: Let people stop boasting about their ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a miserable sinner. All men are sons of Adam, and Adam came from dust (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi).

Brother, these are not your friends. As harsh as it may sounds, you really need to stop hanging out with non-Muslims who bash on Islam. If you keep correcting them and they keep insisting upon their hatred towards our deen, then your "friendship" with them is of no use. It's best to cut ties with those who mock Islam, as it can only lead to no good. Make du'a for them, but the best thing to do is not associate with them after you have delivered the message.

Well it seems like someone has twisted these hadith. I had heard the hadith about the slave of dirham and dinar and kamisa and katifa (types of expensive cloth). Allah's Messenger (SAW) had cursed them (that they should perish) but it had nothing to do with black ppl. That hadith is for anyone who is the slave of dirham and dinar and expensive clothes. (Don't remember it well, though, it was a long time ago.)

There's also the hadith about Abu Dharr Ghifari:

Abu Dharr Ghifari once addressed Bilal as "The son of a black woman." Thereupon the Prophet (SAW) said to him: Did you tease him by insulting his mother? You are surely a person in whom is ignorance. When was it that the son of a white woman enjoyed superiority over the son of a black woman for reasons other than piety? (Al-Bukhari)

Brother Muhseen,

Do not take your religion from non-muslims, or you will doom yourself to loss and misguidance. Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal used to refuse to argue or discuss anything with those who claim "logical" arguments that would break the dictation of the prophet, not out of inability to respond but as he said "I wouldn't want my human mind and heart to be confused for even a second".

The first hadith is twisted and the word negro is completely fabricated and put in there. The actual hadith has nothing related to negro or black, but says "The Slave of the Dinar..." referring to those people who are all about money.

The second hadith is about color of their hearts, not their skin. It is about God taking out Adam's good progeny with white hearts from his right shoulder, and the bad progeny with black hearts from his left shoulders, those with white hearts will be guided to heaven and those with black ones will be led astray. That was at the time of Adam's creation and it refers to what God has told us in the Quran that he created all of mankind and made them witness to worship only God, before the creation of our actual physical bodies at the time of our natural birth.

The third is about a hypocrite called Nabtal Ibn Al-Hareth, used to backbite the prophet with the other hypocrits, and the description was أذلم which is dark, and Gabrial was speaking about him in specification and described him as such: "A man will come to you, dark with unruly hair, red-shot eyes and red-cheeks with a disfigured face, his liver is bigger than that of a donkey, if he comes to you watch out for him, he carries what you say to the hypocrits to backbite you." In the second part it is actually THEIR own saying: "If what Mohamed says is true, our hearts are worse than that of a donkey." Seera Nabaweyya for Ibn Ishaq. The Quranic verse came down on those hypocrites who annoy the prophet through their backbyting.

If those "friends" have gone deep enough to dig something like that up and twist it around, (or take it twisted) it means that they are CLEARLY overtaken by the evil in their hearts and ACTIVELY trying to seek negative things to feed your ears. Brother escape with your religion from those people and pray to God so that you may be protected from such lies and fabrications.

Additionally, it is a sin if you sit with people who are negatively speaking about Islamic religion or taking God's verses in vein: "And, indeed, He has enjoined upon you in this divine writ that whenever you hear people deny the truth of God's messages and mock at them, you shall avoid their company until they begin to talk of other things - or else, verily, you will become like them. Behold, together with those who deny the truth God will gather in hell the hypocrites," [4:140]

God grant us all guidance

Subhanallah!!, May ALLAH reward brother for clearing this up.
About the hadith of the Dinar and the dirhma, all I can say is this
"wa inna makrahom la tazool minho al jibal"
the great lengths that go to just to attack the character of the prophet(pbuh).

Special thanks to you all, brothers and sisters, for such an erudite and scholarly responses. May Allah, the Exalted, reward you handsomely and grant you Al-Jannah for the good job. I remain eternally grateful.

That aside, those are not really friends to me; and that is why I put the word friend in the OP in commas. These guys are really pain in the neck. Feel like I should not just leave for we are steadily winning hearts of some of them. Should I leave even in such a scenario?

Not sure ; If these non-Muslims are trying hard to mislead u and if u fear that they can create confusion in your heart , then try to avoid them totally.

For dawah purpose , u can give them Quran or some good Islamaic books , CD etc . But don't let them make your life miserable . Also remember , guidance come from God only.

some related hadith :

Three women of al-Jannah [Paradise]

Ibn 'Abbas said to me, "Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?" I said, "Yes." He said, "This black lady came to the Prophet and said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered; please invoke Allah for me.'

The Prophet said (to her), 'If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her." [al-Bukhari]
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah:

The Prophet said, "I saw myself (in a dream) entering Paradise, and behold! I saw Ar-Rumaisa', Abu Talha's wife. I heard footsteps. I asked, Who is it? Somebody said, 'It is Bilal ' Then I saw a palace and a lady sitting in its courtyard.

.....These were women..., and they deserved Paradise..., why? how?

.....The black woman mentioned in this Hadith is not even known by her name, or who she were, she is rather known by her deeds, her faith, her modesty, her chastity, her care about not being uncovered and for her being an inmate of Paradise. And that is what matters indeed.

Ameen to your dua ; same to you bro .

related info:

.....Bilal ... the freed Ethiopian slave after accepting Islam was inseparable from the Messenger himself. He became the Prophet's first muezzin (caller to the five daily Prayers).

....Hazrat Bilal added the following words in the call for the Fajir prayers: “The prayer is better than sleep”. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) approved the addition and till today the same prayer-call is going on even after 14 centuries.

...Once the Holy Prophet (PBUH) asked Hazrat Bilal what extraordinary deeds he did after accepting Islam because the Holy Prophet (PBUH) heard the sound of his slippers ahead of him when the sight of Paradise was presented before him during a divine revelation.

He made no mention of the piety, struggle, hardships or tortures he endured for the cause of Islam but humbly replied: “O my beloved Prophet, I have performed no extraordinary deeds as a Muslim.”

Upon further insistence by the Prophet, he told that the only thing he could recall was that, after each wadhu (ablution), he offered two nawafils. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) appreciated this act of Hazrat Bilal

:sl: Bro,

As the sister mentioned in post #7 Your friend has been giving you bogus hadiths, you need to find out where he is getting this from because the the source is not valid. Next time ask him where he is getting it from and let him know they are not valid

1. See below the actual hadith in Bukhari:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "Let the slave of Dinar and Dirham of Quantify and Khamisa (i.e. money and luxurious clothes) perish for he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased!"

Dirham, of Quantify and Khamisa perish as he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased. Let such a person perish and relapse, and if he is pierced with a thorn, let him not find anyone to take it out for him. Paradise is for him who holds the reins of his horse to strive in Allah's Cause, with his hair unkempt and feet covered with dust: if he is appointed in the vanguard, he is perfectly satisfied with his post of guarding, and if he is appointed in the rearward, he accepts his post with satisfaction; (he is so simple and unambiguous that) if he asks for permission he is not permitted, and if he intercedes, his intercession is not accepted."

2:Tirmidhi 38 - can't find a reference to this, but I am 99.9% sure this is also some made up bogus hadiths from an anti-Islamic source.

3. There is no Surah Ishaq in the Qur'an!

There is a thread about Bilal Ibn Rabah here: http://www.islamicboard.com/companio...ibn-rabah.html

Bilal Ibn Rabah, the first Muazzin (caller to prayer) of Islam, was one of the most trusted and loyal companion of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).He was a true model of the morals and customs of Islam. He cherished unbounded love for the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and was deeply devoted to Islam. He was a staunch foe of the infidels and idolaters but this involved no personal feelings. He held the infidels in deep contempt because they were the enemies of Islam and the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.).

You really have been so much helpful, brothers and sisters. Only Allah, the Exalted, could aptly reward, which I hope and pray He will. May He bless us all.

BTW, there is an urgent need for us Muslims all over the world to stand up and fight back the always fighting done by haters of Islam especially on the internet. These guys seem to never get tired; they frantically search for any things, take and start using in the wrong way, for e.g. those ahadeeth. There are many more stuff like this.

Thanks once again.
