I have a question, I don't know how to explain..well I will try to explain...
I am trying to memorize Qur'an, with the help of Allaah SWT, InshaAllaah..but have a few a problems..
I am using two Qur'ans instead of one, and it makes me very confused, bcz..one Qur'an is just for arabic, and the second one is for arabic with urdu translation..bcz it is very easy to memorize with translation..and the problem is, when i used the Qur'an with urdu translation, which is Ibne kathir Qur'an...its picturized the Ayaahs in my mind which I memorized, and when coming back to the Qur'an with only arabic..made me again to picturized whole ayaah again.....
The question is, why can't I use the Qur'an Ibne kathir one, I read and heard that there sould be one and special Qur'an for memorization ( I have and am using)..
As I don't know Arabic, without a translation its very HARD and not EASY to memorize, but still I can DO, InshaAllaah.

If any one gets my point, what I am saying, please help me what I can do??

I know, but the Qur'an used specificaly for recitation is without a translation..so...just wanted to know, whats wrong If use the Ibe kathir Qur'an for memorization??

that wud be ok to use ibn kathir however later on ull find it difficult to recite from other mushafs coz ull be use to ibn kathir
maybe u can memorise first or try to from the normal arabic quran then read the translation from ibn kathir

Sister I suggest you memorize from the Arabic one, and see the meanings from the Ibn Kathir one. One reason is that the Arabic one will be divided with memorization in mind, e.g. each page will end with an Ayah. Secondly, I'm think for the ibn kathir one you might mix the Arabic with the urdu, as in normally you sometimes need to remember the position of the start of an Ayah. The urdu part may interfere with that. Thirdly, if you ever lose the Ibn Kathir one, then you might not be able to buy a new one as easily as the Arabic one. I'm living in Singapore and use the pakistani mushaf, and i lost mine at a musalla and had difficulty getting the same copy because here the saudi one is more common.

As for arabic, i suggest you learn it properly as it will inshallah open a new world for you. The Quran is nothing like any book you ever read! And the translation is nothing compared to the actual words of Allah. One course available online is the madinah arabic course. The books and video lectures are all available here: http://kalamullah.com/learning-arabic.html

Its an awesome course. If you complete it inshallah, you will be able to read the Quran as well as the Ahadith of Rasulullah(s.a.w.) in Arabic inshallah. Trust me if you put in the effort once, the rest of your entire life will flip upside down because of Allah's words inshallah!

Wassalam

I still don't understand why you have to use two Qurans :?

One for translation...and the main for recitation...basically, I memorized the translation too, not all, but at least I know the meaning of the ayahs I am memorizing..
