Take advantage of five matters before five other matters:

1) Your youth before you become old,
2) Your health before you fall sick,
3) Your richness before you become poor,
4) Your free time before you become busy,
5) Your life before your death.

May Allah reward you for the beautiful hadith and reminder

The Prophet Sala Lahu alihi wa sallam also said

Narrated by Ibn Abbas:
The Prophet (SAW) said, ‘There are two blessings which many people lose: Health and free time for doing good”
[Al- Bukhari 76:421]

On the authority of 'Abdullaah ibn 'Umar (radhi-yallaahu 'anhumaa) who said:

If you live until the evening, then do not expect to live until the following morning. And if you live until the morning, then do not expect to see the evening. Take from your health for your sickness and from your life for your death

Reported by al-Bukhaaree

N the hadith in Muslim

Take the initiative to do deeds, before trials come like a piece of a dark night (unexpectedly)

And this is just a classic from Umar radi Allah Anhu

Umar bin al-Khattab (radiAllahu `anhu) said,

“Take account of your own selves (i.e., of your deeds), before you will be taken to account (on the Day of Resurrection).

Weigh yourselves (i.e., your deeds) before you will be weighed (i.e., before your deeds will be put on the balances on the Day of Resurrection).

Verily, if you hold yourselves accountable today, the accountability tomorrow (i.e., the Day of Resurrection) will be easier upon you.

And adorn yourselves for the greater display (i.e., for when you will be brought to Judgment):

الحاقة : يومئذ تعرضون لا تخفى منكم خافية
That Day shall you be brought to Judgment, not a secret of you will be hidden.Quran Surah Al haaqah Ayah 18

Jazaakallah khairan for this brother.

Along the same lines, I have also heard the following, though I don't know who originally said it:

"Say your prayers, before your prayers are said" (i.e. janaazah)

May Allah give us tawfeeq to take full advantage of all the above. Ameen.

Take 5 before 5
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s) was always giving his Ummah the best advice. In a famous hadeeth, it has been recorded that he (s) said for everyone to take advantage of 5 things quickly. In implementing this advice, the Ummah will be able to plan more efficiently and therefore live their lives better. What are these five things and what is the correct understanding of this hadeeth? Sheikh Yasir Qadhi conveys this lesson in a beautifully concise manner.
