View Full Version : What's the dress code for muslim males?

Aslaam alaykum, I see many muslim men walking around in tight trousers and tight tops, sometimes they're clothes are just as tight as womens clothes.
I was thinking this can't be right, so does anyone know the dress code for Muslim men? Don't they have to wear loose clothing and dress modestly also. and can't expose certain parts of their bodies.

You know, I recently had a desire to buy a drench coat. A very thin drench coat that can go beyond my knees. Anyone know where I can buy one?

I want a simple one. Only buttons, not a sash in the middle or anything. Something that's loose as well. Something that I can wear on top of my Islamic clothing as well...

you should go to burberry U.S
http://us.burberry.com/home/index.jsp
They charge you the same but paying in dollars is cheaper than pounds..
do some chores around the house and save up your monies.. or drop a loved one a hint ;D (it is one of those few times when being of the female specie really pays off)

$1400, ukhti? No way. :phew I rather use that money to go to Hajj or buy a car. :ermm: I found a similar drench coat for $100. I was just looking for other options.
Masha'Allah, you must have good cash to be shopping there. o_O Come here to Beverly Hills. You'll blend right in. lol

I have a couple of burberry's but I bought them before the price sky rocketed, not even half of a thousand, these prices represent the insanity of the current economic crisis..
I am not the sort that buys a new coat every year and have had mine for quite sometime.. when I do make a purchase I have to love it.. my coat does so many things that the ones for double the price don't for instance I have a complete camel wool liner in red that I can attach in the winter, I don't see this in their new lines, and the liner alone sells for alot of money (I don't know why considering it is just a shell.. the new ones are flimsy and way over priced.
whatever the case, see if you like the one from overstock I have linked above? I actually like it very much and joseph aboud is a good designer and it is very reasonably priced so you won't have to grow out of your desire..

i was kidding ...gays don't have to necessarily dress like women however some of the latest fashion for men which includes really tight clothing that makes a man look effeminate is all part of the feminization of man
a guy could wear skinny jeans and tight blouses but he may be just following the latest trends and he could be straight but it strips you off your masculinity :hmm:

Aslaamu alaaykum..
Hijab is not only required for sisters, but also for brothers ie Male and Female.
Both are suppose to cover certain body parts, and dress modestly, and wear loose clothing :) :D..
Wa alaaykum salaam..

You honestly feel like killing them? We all make our choices, and indeed take responsibility for them but as good muslims we should show them the way.
Otherwise whats the difference between us and all the anti-muslim fighters?

It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw ‘Ali wearing two garments dyed with safflower and said: “These are garments of the kuffaar; do not wear them.”
Narrated by Muslim, 2077.
4. It is haraam for women to imitate men and men to imitate women in the way they dress, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed the men who imitate women and the women who imitate men.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5546

The awrah of men is from the navel to knees. If they walk around without any tops, Islamically they are within their limits. Of course they have to have beards etc. Regarding wearing tight clothes, it is mostly done to show off one's bodily features. if that is the intention then that is certainly a sin because show off and pomp and show does not befit a Muslim.
If a person is wearing such tight clothes where his muscular upper trunk is bulging because he cant afford newer ones or something then it should be fine as long as his satr is covered and is not so tight that his satr can be made out.
@ Rashad and Skye: ooh I wish I was literate in dressing up. lol. I mean I stick to clothes available at flea market outlets. :p
