So! Would any of you be wonderful enough to teach me with patience?
My top question at moment is Islam and peace. The tolerance of other religions so long as non-Muslims try to attack or force upon their religion. I remember skimming a book but I never picked it up but it said something about Muhammad (sp?) preached tolerance and love of the Christians and Jews. . .
I'm sorry if this topic was a little over the place, it is 2am :p my brain is beginning to check out.

if you would like to learn more about Islam, i recommend these lectures by Dr Bashar Shala. Dr Shala in NOT [in his words] a scholar. rather, he is a very busy and humble man who spends a great deal of his time teaching the history of Islam at his Masjid. despite what he says about himself, i ABSOLUTELY LOVE his work. he has a history of the Prophet, PBUH, here:
http://www.pleasantviewschool.com/me...wi%20%28saw%29
that^^ is his newer version. he actually began his online posts with this version of the Seerah from early 2002. Dr. Jamil Akbik stood in for Brother Bashir when he was absent. the new lectures are 100% Bashar:

he also has [as you can see if you scroll around] a section on the Khalifas. listen to Umar as Khalifa from the Islamic History section:
http://www.pleasantviewschool.com/me...ulafah+Rashida
Dr Shala also does a series of talks on creation and all of the Prophets, taken from the Qur'an:
http://www.pleasantviewschool.com/me...ories+of+Quran
with these 4 in particular, from the 18th Surah of the Qur'an, Al Kahf, being in my opinion PHENOMENAL, especially the Owner of the TWO Gardens:

Dr Bilal Philips also has many useful lectures, in video form, here. especially at the bottom of the page - 12 ) Foundations of Islamic Studies:

i hope some of this helps.
