View Full Version : Head Covering

So for the past few months, I've been wearing a head covering (kufi) on my head (...obviously?).

So first off, could someone give me the Hadith regarding it?

And secondly...

I occasionally take it off. Mainly for three reasons:

1. It gets too hot, then my head gets itchy scratchy with ti on.
2. I come out of the show, so I don't want to cover it right away or I'll get extreme cases of dandruff and itchiness.

and the 3rd one is my main question.

I sometimes take it off with the intention to make those around me realize that Muslims do not all have to wear it. Because I noticed that when you wear it, people tend to ask why others don't wear it too. i also sometimes take it off with the intention to make those around me more comfortable. It's my Hijaab, but Hijaab is a higher level than the Kufi (topi). I'm trying to explain the situation, but do you guys get it... sort of?

I've heard something similar. The article Brother Aabir provided did not have any Hadith or anything regarding that though. It just said he (sallallahu alayhe wasallam) wore a white kufi.
