For those who don't know the story ...
This a story of a guy who's mother has just one eye. This poor mother has lost her eye, and her son hated her, just because she looks ugly with one eye. She always embarrased him. He goes to the the school, and his mother works in that school as a cook just to buy food and to help her son in his study.
....

One day, she went to the class just to assure her son is ok, but when she saw him, her son yelled in her face : "why did you this to me !? now I feel embarrassed with you !", and he refused to talk to her or to go with her. The next day, one schoolboy told him - with an evil lough - "hey, you are the son of the one-eye woman, aren't you ?", so he wished he had burried himself in that second, and he wished his mother were disapeared from his life.
At home, he affronted his mother and said : "I hate you, you made me a joke !", and he doesn't care about her feelings or about the effort she's doing to offer him a good life. But the poor mother doesn't respond to his words and remained silent. He left the place, and went to his room.
....

The days passed quickly and he went to the university, the went to study outside the village, and then he got married.
He bought a big house and had children and he was very happy. But his mother ? he forgot about her, he forgot about the poor women who worked all the day to earn some money to let him go to the university, he forgot about the poor woman who never get asleep at night when he is sick, he just hate her because she lost her eye.
....

One day, the old one-eye mother missed her son who doen't visit her from his university days. So she walked alone in the city and asked about his location and went to his home. She stayed away from the house looking at the door, she know he doesn't want to see her, but she want just to see his face just one more time before she died. The door is open, and little children come out from the house, when she looked at them she knew they're her grand sons because they look like her son, she took them in her arms and kissed them with joy. After a while, her son come out when he heared the noise, and when he saw his old mother in front of his door and taking the children in her arms and kissing them, he became angry ordered the children to go inside, and he yelled in her face : "How dare you come to my house and scare my babies !?".
She responded calmly as she used to do : "Oh , I'm sorry, I think I got the wrong house ", and she went away with silent tears on her face, and she disapeared.
....

After few years, some neighbours told him his mother is dead, and they gave him a letter from her. He recognized his mother's hand writing, because she used to help him to write homeworks when he was at school. He looked at the letter and he read it :
"My Dear son,
I'm sorry about coming to your home the last time, and I'm sorry for scaring your children. I'm sorry for causing you embarrassement every time in your life. But I have something I think you want to know, I didn't want to tell you that. Did you know you had an accident when you was young. And the doctor said to me that you will loose your eye forever, so I didn't want you to grow up with one eye and have a sad life. I realised that your eyes look like mine, so I gave you my eye so you can live a normal life, and I was happy to do that like every mother, because my son can see the world with my eye ..
With love, your mother .."

I actually read this story on YouTube a while back. I'm sure it's been posted on this forum before but it's worth posting a million times. It's so sad.

We fail to realize the love our parents, especially our mothers, have for us.

The story is touching.
Thank you for sharing!
She should've been embarrassed for her son's behavior and not the son by her, but as a mother/parent she had an unconditional love.

I've heard this story in a different version.

A girl who had been blind all her life had this guy always taking care of her, always being beside her, comforting her in times sorrow. One day the guy proposed to her and asked her that if she'd ever have her eyes healed and she'd see the World would she marry him. After thinking a while, the girl's replied without having second thoughts in the affirmative "of course I would!". A while later the doctors found the girl a prospective eye. The transplantation was done and the surgery turned out to be successful al-hamdulillah. After she got her eyes healed she found out the boy had been blind all this time. Seeing all the adornments, joy and pleasures of this life, she left the 'worthless' him who had loved her with all his heart. Then after varies fruitless attempts hoping to satisfy the girl's demandings, he respected her will wishing her happiness. Several years later the girl recieved a letter from him saying... "please take care of my eyes".

How important our mothers are; yet we hardly appreciate it. We take things for granted. Today's younger generation are at their worst. No respect for parents. Shouting, swearing cursing parents. Such a shame. May ALLAH(SWT) make it easy for everyone who raise their children to love, honour and respect them. Ameen.

JazakALLAH-heir. It was indeed a great reminder.
