salaam alaikum,
many times we are punished by Allah in this world as we commit sins which displeases Him. but even in this anger and punishment of Allah, there is love and compassion for us.
it makes us to be mindful of Allah, fear of Allah increases, humility and humbleness replaces arrogance and pride. otherwise He could let us to enjoy commit more and more sins to punish us severely in next life.
prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah wants to favour a servant of His, He involves him in some misfortune. And when He decrees evil for him, He gives him plenty of rope in this world, but would take him to task on the Day of Judgement".

may Allah forgive us and help us to avoid sins. He indeed is capable to do all the things. ameen
