pictures? haram?

there are different arguments in that regards. I know that painting by hand is haram.

The arguments regarding the prohibition of taking pictures by a camera are very weak. But hanging such pictures on walls etc is haraam because it means revering the person in the picture.

scholars are against sisters taking picts of themselves and showing them on fb however i heard that theres security setting on fb which protects your privacy but i heard the privacy setting no longer exists? but anyways scholars are totally against the idea of it since you will attract an awful lot of non mehrams and kafirs to lust over you

If you have female friends and husband, brother and uncle only on your facebook then it is fine. But boycott facebook all together is my personal advise.
