It could lead to masterbation which is haram so it would be better for you to occupy your imagination/thoughts with things that will benefit you in this life and the hereafter.

Thinking of sex can lead to masturbation and also induce the desire to do it physically. Unless you're married, you can satisfy this desire of yours but if you aren't then seek refuge in Allah SWT and think about something beneficial instead.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

Sorta like the friend advice. Make sure your friends are good Muslims, otherwise it can lead to you doing something against Islam. I also suggest what the Sister above said.

There's no punishment for it, you are human after all. But just try to avoid it Brother, it will be better for you otherwise your just going to end up being fustrated and it can lead to the worst. Try to occupy yourself with other things to keep your mind off it.

There's a reason why the Prophet(pbuh) encouraged early marraiges...

You may think oh im just thinking about sex no harm done, well then you may get a whisper from shaytan to masturbate, then you can go from masturbating to commiting sexual acts outside of marriage.
It is better to be safe than sorry and to prevent things from happening.

O you who believe! do not follow the footsteps of the Shaitan, and whoever follows the footsteps of the Shaitan, then surely he bids the doing of indecency and evil; and were it not for Allah's grace upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have ever been pure, but Allah purifies whom He pleases; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

Sh. Yasir Qadhi answered the issue of masturbation in his course on Halal Intimacy, see: http://www.likeagarment.com/

Please see the last question in the FAQ document which you can download from here (please only download if you are 17+):

Question:
Can you clarify your position on masturbation? Is it limited to single people or those who are married?

Answer:
I want to be clear here, my position on masturbation is exactly the same as Imam Ash-Shawkani and many of the scholars before and after him. Their stance was: there is nothing in our Shari’ah which prohibits masturbation. When I say it’s permissible, I’m not saying one should be proud and boastful about it, rather it’s when one who needs it he can use it.

In fact the narration of Ibn ‘Abbas seems to be the single most proof that masturbation is not haraam. When the young man came to him and said I play with myself until I ejaculate, Ibn ‘Abbas didn’t say; “La hawla wala quwwata illah billah.” He didn’t say’ “Astaghfirullah” He didn’t say; “How could you?” or “Haram, shirk, Kufr!” All he said was: “What you are doing is better than zina, but if you were to marry a slave girl it would be better for you.” He didn’t rebuke this teenager; he didn’t get angry at him. He simply said; “I’d rather you marry a slave girl.”

There is no doubt something which is mubah (allowed) can be misused, and in turn can become bad, but in general, a man or woman who needs it, I don’t see any problem with this. Even if they’re married, they may be dissatisfied with their partner as he may only come once a month and she needs to take care of herself more than this; there is no problem with her doing this action.

masturbation + pornography = emasculation

emasculation = depopulation

depopulation = Victory for elitists

Victory for elitists = the death of society

this is an interesting topic.

Surely one cant help their thoughts. However, if this was for example a husband thikning of his wife, or vice versa...then what would be the opinion on this stance?

waiting for your replies brothers and sisters :D

'Those who guard their sexual organs except with their spouses or those whom their right hands possess, for (with regard to them) they are without blame. But those who crave something beyond that are transgressors.' (Al-Mu'minoon:5-7)

The masturbator is one of those who ‘crave something beyond that.’

It has been reported by Abu Hurrairah (R.A) that Allah's Messenger (P.B.U.H) said : ''A group of people will be gathered on the Day of Judgement with hands pregnant due to practising masturbation''. (Al-Hakim)

Abu Hurrairah (R.A) also reported that Allah's Messenger (P.B.U.H) said Seven have been cursed by Allah (SWT) and he will not look at them on the Day of Judgement. It will be said to them enter the Hell with others: the two who commits homosexuality, the one who has sexual intercourse with an animal, the one who marries the daughter and her mother, the one who practises masturbation, till they repent sincerely'' (Al-Hakim)

. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, 'O youth, whoever of you is able to marry, let him marry, for it spares one looking at what one should not, or lapsing in adultery. And if he cannot marry, let him observe fasting, for it is a shield against evil.' (Reported by Muslim.)"

Muslim youth who are unable to marry,should seeks help through frequent fasting, for fasting nurtures will-power, teaches control of desires, and strengthens the fear of Allah

Yes akhi, this is one opinion amongst the scholars. There is another opinion that exists that I have mentioned earlier that is held by other scholars and they also have evidence for their position. I'm more than positive that the scholars who hold the opinion I've posted above knew of these narrations and of the ayah in the Qur'an yet hold a different understanding and conclusion due to their analysis of the texts and evidences. You are free to subscribe to whichever you want of course, but remember that in issues of valid ikhtilaf, there is no censuring and there needs to be tolerance when there are valid differences in opinions.
