Islam & the right to live

Allah says "And do not kill anyone whose killing Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause"

And He said Also
"On that account, we ordained for the children of Israel that if any one slew a person unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land it would be as if he slew the whole people , and if any one saved a life , it would be as if he saved the lives of the whole people.

Islam prohibits all kinds of violence & aggression against anyone unless in case of self-defense.

Some people may say that how we believe these words while in the Islamic history there are lots of wars & bloodshed???

This is a false claim that says Islam spread through forcing people & shedding blood. The first people to embrace Islam were the weak & the poor who converted to it willingly seeking its justice & freedom, those who were even weak to defend themselves & they were tortured & killed by others. Moreover, with a quick view through the history we will find that even those rich & authoritative people who entered Islam, they did so in a free will without any compulsion.

If that claim is true so why Muslims didn't compelled all people at that time to embrace Islam? , why did they accept to keep living with Jews & even disbelievers both in Mecca & Madena , while they were so powerful to force any one to do so ??

Furthermore, when prophet Muhammad entered Mecca after many years of war and torture, and after losing most of his companions in wars he was able to take revenge & to kill everyone or at least to force them into Islam but instead he said " you are free"
These few simple words was his response for all the suffering that he & his companions underwent for years, so imagine that what has happened with him happened to any emperor or ruler nowadays, do you think that would be the same response??
