Today I learnt that I haven't seen Friends in ages even though I own the box set but still love to watch some episodes from time to time and I always wondered why Chandler was not as funny as Joey towards the end of the series. Also that Emus and kangaroos cannot walk backwards, and are on the Australian coat of arms for that reason. *

I learnt that all I needed was to be alone in a nice sunny room with nasheeds blasting and time at my disposal to get through the work that I've been putting off for the last few months. Alhamdulillah I dunnit today :D

I also learnt that I enjoy teaching poetry, fiction and non-fiction in that order, and the poetry unit I'm teaching at the moment has been by far the best alhamdulillah cept this only goes for ks2, for ks1 I prefer teaching fiction, poetry and then non-fiction, simply because my Year 1's don't really understand the concept of rhyming yet.

I think I'm going to learn also that nobody really cares what I learnt.

I learn something today :)

NAILS IN THE FENCE

Make sure you
read all the way down t o the last sentence.

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper... His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day
the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence... Over the next Over the next
few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily
gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.

He told his
father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his
temper.

The days
passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father
took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will
never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

I'd say it's worse than physical wound. The saying 'Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me'..don't know who's living that fairytale..nor do I agree with whoever came up with that...maybe as a child you might convince yourself as a rebuke against the name calling by bullies..not I don't think it's something to be taught to children.

You an active directory master then? :p

Today I learnt how to configure security on switch ports and why we use the mac-address sticky command. I also learnt the difference between full duplex communication and half duplex. Full duplex is much better because no collisions occur due to the fact that data travels across 2 different wires, one for sending and one for receiving, however with half duple, data only travels across a single wire hence more collisions occur, because a device could be receiving a reply whilst it's sending. Half duplex also has performance issues due to constant waiting because data can only travel in one direction at a time.

there are two kinds of food one that we eat and fulfill our hunger but it dosnt gives any benefit to our body.. and the other which is full of nutrients and when eaten is digested and absorbed by our blood fulfilling all the necessities of a body and giving strength to it..
the iman we actually need is not like the first type of food i.e just acceptance but the one like second type of food. i.e after acceptance its affects can be seen on our body and character.

surah yunus ayah 10

in its tafseer it was mentioned that the people of jannah even after entering it will never forget to give thanks to Allah (SWT) and not be lost in what they will be given.. thier saleh character they have nourished in this earth will be their with them in jannah

Today I learnt a good lesson for courier agent

"Do not too easy to believe what the customer say, and don't forget to check what they will send"

Yesterday, two guys came to my office brought two medium size boxes. They told my employee those were garments. We did not check those good and then we sent those to departure point.

Today I got a phone call from main branch.
"Did you receive shipping goods number ......."
"I did" I reply
"And what was the customer told you about those goods ?"
"Garments"
"Garments ?, ......... those are two live phyton snakes !!!, ........... you know ?!!!"

:heated:

I got warning. But I still wonder, how could those phytons breathed in the closed boxes?.

phyton snakes??

I think I'd passed out if I unknowingly open a box containing two phytons.

One time I was staying for the weekend at my uncle's who has several exotic animals as pets. When I woke up in the morning, next to me in my bed was this large sized phyton, put there by my cousin as practical joke. Suffice to say, I didnt come back to my uncle's to stay for a long time.

It is reported that Shurayh – {Allâh have mercy on him} – said:-

“If I am afflicted with a calamity,

I praise Allâh for it four {4} times:

#1/ I praise Him because it wasn’t worse than it was.

#2/ I praise Him when He gives me the patience to bear it.

#3/ I praise Him for enabling me to say al-istirjâ’ ~‘To Allâh we belong and to him we will return’.

{in hope of a great reward}

{Al-Baqarah: 154-156}

and
#4/ I praise Him for not making it a calamity in my religion.”

Today, while reciting Quran,i came accross this ayah and learn to behave good any way.To repel evil with good in every possible way.I have decided to practice this from today,Inshallah.May He SWT be with me in my good intensions.Amen.

(O Prophet), good and evil are not equal. Repel (evil) with that which is good, and you will see that he, between whom and you there was enmity, shall become as if he were a bosom friend (of yours). But none attains to this except those who are steadfast;38 none attains to this except those endowed with mighty good fortune.
Chapterr 41.Ha Meem.Verse 34-35.

Today I learnt how the OSI networking model works I think, basically there's 7 layers and data travels down each layer, and at each layer something specific occurs, I didn't understand the point of the session and presentation layers, but I understood the Transport and Network layer, and I learnt how to put static routes into a router and subnet a network with 1 ip address.

Once upon a time there was a king, who had 1 eye and 1 leg.He asked all the painters to draw a beautiful picture of his but no one was ready to draw. As,how come they show him beautiful with defects in 1 eye and leg.
One day,a painter agree to draw his picture and he drew a classic picture of that king.It was a fantastic picture that surprised all the people. He painted the king aiming for a hunt, targeting with one eye closed and one leg bent for it.

Why cant we all paint others picture like this?Hiding their weaknesses and Highlighting their strengths.
When we hide others weaknesses,Allah SWT will hide ours in this world and in the here after.

Today I learned a lot about myself and about Islam. I learned about wudu before prayer, observed some prayer, and talked to a brother for a good long while.

I learned that I don't have to tell my parents about my conversion. I can just let my actions be my witness, inshallah.

That does make me feel better about some things.

Today was a good day, mashallah.

The temptation to sneak up behind you and give you a little shove. But, to take that last step has to be yourown choice. You have to take it because you know it is the right step, not because any human wants you to take it.

You have to be very careful of what you say when you're angry and your blood is pumping because eventually people will stop forgiving you for saying words even though you're angry and don't mean it. Words can really hurt a person, when you feel the anger say to yourself "the believers are those who control their anger".

Do you concur??? I learnt the word concur today.

Today I learn, meaning of "fatwa" in the West is different than common meaning of "fatwa" in my place.

In my place, fatwa is result of ulama consensus. If ummah ask scholar, the answer from scholar is not called fatwa, but "scholar's answer".

Today, on the way back to my city, a food street vendor came to the place where I took a rest. I bought his food and immediately we involved in conversation. He told me that today is the first day he start to work as food vendor again after he back to his village for few weeks. His house in village was badly damaged by flood, and he spent his saving to repair his home.

There is something that I adore on him. He got unfortunate. But instead of see a 'sign of complaint' on his face, I saw optimism, and gratefulness on him. I saw a gratefulness on his eyes when he smile and said "Alhamdulillah" when received the payment for his food.

So what did I learn today?. I learned about optimism and gratefulness from this food vendor.
