I always hear that reciting Surah Yaseen after Fajr has a lot of virtues. Could someone post those 'virtues'? I hear it has something to do with accomplishing your daily activities, etc.

Jazakallahu Khair in advance! :)

I've heard many weak or false ahadeeth re: surah yaasen (from yaaseen as the heart of the Qur'an, to benefits of reading yaasen to the dead, to benefits of reading yaasen on thursday night), but never this one.

عن ‏عطاء إبن أبي رباح قال بلغني أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " من قرأ يس صدر النهار ‏قضيت حوائجه" (رواه الدارمي) ـ

'Ataa' bin Abi Ribaah, (RadhiyAllahu 'anh) says that Rasulullah (Sallallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam) is reported to have said, "Whoever reads surah Yaaseen in the beginning of the day, all his needs for that day are fulfilled." [Narrated by Darami]

With all due respect brother, any hadeeth which is not present in Bukhari, Muslim or Muwatta' (Imam Maalik) has to be verified by a muhaddith and classed at least as hasan. If any muhaddith like Sheikh Albani for instance declares this hadeeth to be sound then we can follow it, otherwise we cannot make such a claim (that reading such and such surah will give us this and that. )

If we want to start our day in a perfect manner we should pray Fajr (with jamaa'ah for men), read the authentic morning dua's (you can find those in Hisn-ul-Muslim) and pray at least two units of Doha prayer (after sunrise).

Salaam Alaikum,

Brother you are taking it in the wrong sense. Forget Sheikh Albani, what I really mean is we should be sure that our prophet SAWS has really said it. If you know any other hadeeth scholar who says it is reliable then you can definitely make that claim otherwise we have no right to do that. It all depends on what prophet Mohammed SAWS said. If we start believing every single hadeeth that we find then there will be a lot of chaos.

I guess you probably didn't know but there were some people who invented ahadeeth to propagate their agenda.

Anyways I mean we should not restrict ourselves to one ideology. We just have to make sure a divine statement such as this should come from the prophet SAWS and we should be certain that he really said those words.

Come on!! there was nothing intentional in that. We are all brothers. Little insignificant differences should not put us to that level. Anyways Wa Alaikum as Salaam.

Walaikum Assalam brother,

I presume you are fairly new to Islam so the best explanation for now would be it's a bit like follow your leader, there are different schools of thought and each proclaim too be better informed than the other.
All authentic Ahadith are Sunnah the problem some times is that the are some extremists who view Ahadith against their personal leanings with hostility.
The science of verification of Ahadith is quite lengthy and intricate and involves one first being an Alim of the Quran and then Muhadith (memoriser of at least 25,000 Ahadith) to commence in this lifelong study.
It's therefore best for you to stick with one school and go Inshallah from there to higher learning.
In time you will learn the most famous Relaters of Ahadith and collections and most importantly why they became famous as due to their exemplary character firstly and then knowledge.
In Ahadith the motto is "the messenger is more important than the message" where the relater is scrutinized firstly and then his links or Sanat to the source.
That's why you hear of a name who heard from, who heard from, who heard from and then heard the prophet s.a.w say............. Ahadith are the second source for fiqh so one can understand why it is taken seriously.
Finally one should avoid quoting Any Hadith wildly as their refference is not always as seems plus of cource linguistic problems.
I hope I've helped and not confused you.

May Allah S.W.T protects us from Fitnah.
Masalam

In order to answer your question, it is important first to know what ahadeeth are, why is it important to ensure authenticity if ahdeeth and the sciences of ahdeeth.
Here, you can read more about the science of ahadeeth:
http://www.call-to-monotheism.com/ru...ism_of_hadeeth
http://www.call-to-monotheism.com/mo..._by_reem_azzam
In short, it is of utmost important to ensure without doubt that a saying or action attributed to prophet SAW is authentic to keep on the straight path as commanded by Allah SWT i n the Qur'an about obeying prophet Muhammad SAW and as prophet SAW himself commanded not to attribute any lie to him. We can see how getting lax with authenticity led the christians astray (who failed to record all of Jesus pbuh sayings and actions accurately) as well as the jews.

From my short memory, we believe collections of Bukhari especially, and Muslims are authentic, it is because:
1. Imam Bukhari was known to everyone as the most pious and had the most amazing memorization ability. Here, read more about Imam Bukahri: http://www.ummah.net/Al_adaab/hadith...m_bukhari.html and http://www.islamqa.com/en/ref/10675/science%20ahadeeth
2. Imam Bukhari developed the most stringent criteria and rules of the science of ahadeeth. Many times, some ahadeeth may be authentic but because they came a bit short at just one particular point of his standards, he rejected the ahadeeth as being questionable.
